SR match rifle primer left in production?

So, with the Remington ammo plant in AR, closing at the end of the month (so I have heard) and Wolf srm unobtanium, then does that leave the Federal SRmatch and the CCI BR4 as the only two small match rifle primers left? Is the CCI 41 considered a "match" primer?

I am assuming with the plant in Lonoke shutting down, that will be the end of the Rem 7 1/2 primer?

The CCI 41 is not a "match" primer, it is a primer manufactured to Military specifications for small arms ammunition that employs a "small rifle primer" - i.e. 5.56 x 45 NATO standard ammunition.

The REM 7 1/2 is one of my favorites for sure, but at this point the only thing to do is wait and see.

I doubt there is any point to guessing how they will disposition the remains of Remington and anything of their IP that has a value. Corporate raiders suck a place dry before they let go, just a fact of life.

They also have the thicker primer cup, like the Rem 7.5 and a couple others to aid in stopping slam fires and piercing from high intensity cartridges/

Not a SR primer in town that I know of. Just wondering if anything shows up. Thought I had a case of 7 1/2's but they were 9 1/2M's:(

Bass pro here in michigan has some and they price match online sale prices. I just got a bunch , federal sr. Match/ $28.90/ 1000. Wow. They are usually around $44./ 1000 at bass pro.

Hopefully cooler heads will prevail , and the greedy will figure out that Rem primers have a solid market share , and they're worth continued manufacturing . Though the quick buck is always more attractive than the effort of running a company , and saving more American jobs . How silly of me ....Corporate raiders tend to be liberals , quick-buck speculators , and generally anti-gun people , ( except for their own armed body-guards ) so they probably look at this as a win-win-win . Kill more jobs , damage the industry , and hurt Trump , all in one move . I ; for one , would love to see the Trump people take it over , and bring them back to their rightful place of greatness in American firearms history . Not just another "foot-note" of American Corporate mis-management .

Gee hate to see the demise of the Remington 7 1/2 SR primers - they are my alternate when I can't get Federal 205m's.

Let the panic begin!!!

P.S. Sorry in advance for this vent but sometimes I feel like I'm in the upside down world these days. No more high value Leupold VX 2 3x9, 4x12 and 6x18 scopes with simple plex reticles and adjustable objectives that the average man could afford and performed very well for most hunting applications; no more 12" twist 223 Rem factory rifles ideal for shooting 50 and 55 grain bullets for varmint hunting, component shortages and panics, being sprayed with hot brass at the range, going deaf from muzzle brakes on super magnums, no more rolling hay fields in my area for varmint hunting, and now this virus thing!!. The only solace is if one could characterize it as such is that I'm closer to the end than the beginning.

You got that right. I saw this old guy throw a piece of brass at the guy on his left a while ago. Between the blast from the muzzle break and brass hitting me in the legs, I just couldn't take it any more when the brass started hitting my bench gun.

You dont think poor management by cerberus caused this? In the biggest ammo and gun grab in history they go bankrupt?

I absolutely believe it was mismanagement by Cerberus.

However, Cerberus is a private equity company. They are not “corporate raiders” or a group of hedge fund managers, as keeps getting thrown around.

Private equity companies acquire business with the intention of making them better and more valuable. In this case they failed miserably.

What Cerberus didn’t do was purchase Remington with the intent to bankrupt it, then through some complicated scheme, enrich themselves at the expense of everyone else. That’s just Gordon Gekko Hollywood fantasy stuff.

They just flat blew it, like humans do sometimes, and when something like this happens to a company there are no winners (well, except for the lawyers)

There’s no need to make it into more than it is. The facts are bad enough.

I don't see how shooting at a range could be much fun anymore in some places. I tried to be a range master to help our new pistol and rifle range get up and running a few years ago but after a couple of months I couldn't take it any longer. Between people not clearing their weapons while saying they had then pissed off when you called them on it and other people saying they are not hitting your target or the target next to them then ready to fight over the fact that they are clueless, it was not worth the effort for me. It seemed like a dangerous place. Especially when I can drive much closer to a place where I can shoot as far as I can see with no one around to have to consider. Hope you can find a better place to shoot where more respect is the norm.

I guess we should see who on the board will be rich from this besides the lawyers. Sometimes when the stock options stop paying its time to pull the ripcord on the golden parachute.
