I’m no expert but all the tikkas I have built off for family have all shot just as good as my Custom R700 clones.Thanks. Even still, its a good deal. 500-600 for and action, trigger, and mag parts. They are such sweet platforms to build light hunting rifles on. Ideal for the saum/wsm.
The factory ones are aluminum- just sayinmountain tactical sells the lugs. they are made of 17-4 ph h900 stainless steel 200,000 psi strong.
The new T3x one’s are supposed to be steel. The factory ones are aluminum- just sayin
Could be. The 595/695 and early t3 were aluminumThe new T3x one’s are supposed to be steel.
And just think, we shoot the highest pressure guns with 5# barrels hanging off them with no screws, lugs, or anything but epoxy holding them inOn the Mountain Tactical website, they make some weird correlation between chamber psi, and recoil lug tensile strength. I hate marketing bs.

This threads a few years old but I still do build on them for a few guys. I also like to remove the taper and use a normal lug. Makes for a better bedding job imo.
WOW that’s an old thread, I have two rifles built off of Tikka T3 Tac
LOVE my Tikkas
