I love a well-made and well-engineered tool just for its own sake. As such, I will always want one of these. But it's far down the list until I identify primer seating as the next most limiting variable. Pareto principle suggest I have much bigger problems to solve first.

Certainly good to have your priorities in order based on your individual situation. Though I'd venture a guess there are more people that would benefit from primer seating tests during their load development, than think they would. There just hasn't been a lot of work published to that effect, but some that have done the work have seen the fruits first hand. You've got to be shooting pretty small to see it, but the improvement is there.

Having said that, I tend not to focus on the accuracy improvement folks might see on the target, as it is the least quantifiable aspect of the tool. Quite predictably, the least quantifiable aspect is the one that people like to focus on the most. Kind of like barrel cleaning threads that go 20 pages long. This is especially true among those that haven't used our CPS. I have no problem with this, because it's true that many people will not see a benefit on the target. Some will, and have testified to that effect, but it's not worth arguing over. Folks that want to shoot better, don't need to be convinced to try better tools. Better tools produce better ammo faster and more reliably, and that's really all there is to say about it. Some realize a benefit from having an amp annealer, a prometheus powder measure, a $1000 press... Others don't.

The primary benefits that everyone will see, regardless of skill level, is simply the speed, confidence, and lack of effort with which they can seat primers. Those most quantifiable aspects are the most important to the majority of our customers. It's faster, more precise, and more effortless, than any other tool on the market. Those facts are pretty easy to quantify, as evidenced by countless reviews and recommendations from our customers. Many of those same customers have owned literally every other priming tool, but there is only one they kept; Our Competition Primer Seater.

Can't disagree with that. There's a solid argument to make for owning a best-in-class tool that just makes life better. And considering all the money spent in this sport, it's not an unreasonable investment to have a premium heirloom-grade tool that will essentially permanently solve your primer seating challenges with an unmatched combination of convenience and precision.

Is it worth a few tenths of a cent or less per primer over decades of loading to have that? It would be to me. Like I said, I'm an easy sell when it comes to the value of precision tools that are well engineering and well-made.

It's just that in my personal circumstances, I'd defer the expense for now. As I get older, I value the "faster and less effort" parts more with each passing day!

A very valid point you bring up. Lots of folks scoff at the price. However, they only scoff because they haven't used it, and because the next closest tool is half the cost. Yet some of those same folks would have no problem spending $350 for a scope mount, $320 for a bipod, or $4000 for an optic for a single rifle. The CPS can be used to prime every single case, for nearly every single chambering, for every rifle and handgun they own... for the rest of their lives, and likely their children's and even grand children's lives. We chose to spare no expense in the design and production of the CPS. There are ways it could be made cheaper, but it would be lesser, and that is something I will not allow.

The only thing you lack is the ending notation QED which is an abbreviation of the Latin phrase "quod erat demonstrandum". It literally translates as "which was to be demonstrated", and is a formal way of ending a mathematical, logical or physical proof.

This would put an end to any necessity of further discussion. You spared no expense therefore it is expensive. End of statement.

The expense limits the size of the market just as the custom car market is limited to those who are willing to afford say as an example an $8 million car. Those who can afford, buy. The rest are simply wistful. But, it can also be stated that a Chevy Spark will accomplish the same action, it will get you to your destination.;):D

Relax and enjoy the day!:)

Sorry, but I'm not sure what you're saying.

Gosh, I try to write carefully and to be easily understood. There isn't anything complicated about what I wrote.

You wrote:

I suggested the use of the term 'QED' which expresses the concept of a definite ending to the discussion of your postulate. There is no need for further discussion. You chose to spare no expense, therefore it's expansive. QED.

As to my ending example, an extremely expensive car has a limited market as will your priming tool. The Chevy Spark, an inexpensive car, will accomplish the same end result as the expensive custom car, that of getting you to your destination.

Sorry if I confused you.:(

So you're comparing the CPS... to an 8 million dollar car? Would seem your price comparisons are a bit skewed. In actuality it would be like a $100,000 car, that is also the best car in the world, where the average car costs $10,000, and sucks really bad. :)

So you're comparing the CPS... to an 8 million dollar car?

Seems to be a slight disconnect here...

The $8 million dollar car (Mercedes-Maybach Exelero. Price: $8 Million) and the Chevy Spark is an exaggerated comparison. Both are transportation, both will accomplish the same basic function but with a huge disparity in price.

The CPS and a Lee Auto Prime for the bench. $600 to $29

Oh wait, I get it! You're not this stupid. This is a ploy to get me to look like an idiot for trying to make a simple comparison. Oh O.K. have some fun and I hope you enjoy your little prank. ;):) See? I'm smiling. Glad you had some fun.:D

Have a great day!

Kinda bored, eh?
