Looking for a new 22cf round

I had a 22 creed, very hard on bullets and barrel.
Some have had more success with the 22br. you can still use the 80-88g
and get 3000-3100fps
Less powder and a bit longer barrel life.
You could probably get away with a 7.5 twist
They are using it in PRS

Looking for about 2,900 + fps using high BC 80.5 and 85.5 Bergers.

Has anyone been able to shoot better than 1/2 inch 5 shot groups with these bullets ? With any caliber? What say you..... or better show it with group pictures....

I know of plenty of 1/2 moa performance at 300 yard Fclass using the 80.5 by myself and several friends.

I'm pretty much ready to bail on 224 Valkyrie. Almost 1,000 rounds in, Im still chasing consistent half inch groups ( bolt gun, 100 yds)

Looking for about 2,900 + fps using high BC 80.5 and 85.5 Bergers ( already got a supply)

Thinking:

22 Creedmoor

223 Ackley Improved

22-250

What else? What you recommend ?

Inended use: PRS type accuracy out to 1,000 yards + shooting steel.
If that's where you set the bar, I'm thinking 223 AI. Brass is always available, cheap and improving it makes it work less. The other bigger cases will give much greater velocities and cost more to aquire brass. Especially the 22CM

I've shot the 80.5 and they also shot great in my 22 Creedmoor. However, at the time of working up my "load" the Nosler's were much more readily available.

22-204, slightly more capacity than the 223 AI, no fireforming and readily available brass, think of it as a 222 Rem Mag Improved. You can even load with off the shelf dies.

L to R
221, 222 Rem, 223 Rem, 223 AI, 222 Rem Mag, 22-204, 22-204/80gr VLD, 22 Dasher 22x47 Lapua.

Im voting the plain 223 with a 26”+ barrel. I pushed 75gr amax’s to 3000fps not even trying with a 7 twist. Knocked down many many groundhogs to 600+. And its so nice when you can just grab some 40gr factory ammo to play. Barrel heat is nothing, great brass everywhere and stupid simple to load for.

22 Creedmoor = 22-250 both have a 1000 round barrel life before starts falling off

22-204 = 222 Rem Magnum m(minor difference in case geometry)

223AI = 222 Rem Mag/22-204 (within 1 gr of powder)

22 Grendel has more powder capacity then 222 Rem Mag, no issues feeding in bolt gun or AR15 (PPC & BR cases have issues), longer barrel life than 22CM or 22-250

I went back to just shooting the piss out of a plain 223 Wylde.

My 22 Creed didn’t start working for me until 500 rounds, and then dumped at 800. Fun while it lasted. Shot a couple matches with it, but wouldn’t build another.
