6.5cm or .308

so did you get a flinch from shooting 308 heavies all day ???

so why bring up a random maybe???
it was never about math or physics it was about your random claim.
done period end

if not , why bring it up ???
I'm not saying a 308 can't be, and hasn't been shot all day.
My data is laws of physics....
FOR EVERY ACTION THERE IS A EQUAL AND OPPOSITE REACTION.
So take your argument up with Newton, or go to the nearest mirror and argue with yourself!
So instead of comparing pineapples to peaches,
Given a equal base line, a 140 class bullet, will out shoot a .30 call of comparable weight. All the external ballistics says so, @STOMP442 layed it out in plain English.
I didn't write the book but I read it!!
Oh yeah, I shoot a .30 call with heavies pushing 200gr bullets in the mid 2800's.

Have a nice day

I lean .308 because of excellent bullet selection. If you just have to have something different then get a 6.5 CM or >260. If you are hunting and get in a situation that you left without your ammo, truthfully you can damn near buy .308 at CVS compared to Creedmoor. I have shot both with almost equal weight bullets and I think the CM kicks almost the same as a .308. While the CM may have better ballistics , it just depends whether it is a target gun versus hunting but they are both very similar. I choose easy components over a fad. Now you could go with a 6.5 PRC too or a hot rodded 6.5 swede in a modern action etc.

Shot Palma, Service, and any rifle. Was shooting my 6.5CM next to a 308 at Perry, we both missed the change, mine was a wide 10, his was a 9. Made be a believer in the little bullet that could.

Op said he was getting a 6.5 and ain’t been back. Good choice.
I have the 6.5 in Savage & the .308 in Rem 700. Just wanted some opinions. My .308 is a tack driver & the 6.5 is right there with it. Both on a calm day. Got a match Sat with a bunch of wind. If it was closer I would take both but staying in a motel so don't want to sneak 2 guns in. :)

Man, you need to add about 10 pounds to that bad boy...maybe read that Charles Atlas book to it and a diet high in proteins.

As a long time NRA March Rifle and Palma shooter and now on to F/Class something to add.

I am a 6.5 Fan . .260 , .260 Improved and 6.5X 55 . All outstanding at 1000 yards .

Rifle Weight and Stock can play a part ?

Which one are you most comfortable with. If you're dialed in they both shoot where they’re pointed. If you’re looking for a specific purpose round for 500 yd plus the 6.5 has the advantage especially for a less than accomplished shooter. A man that knows his gun is hard to beat regardless of what it’s chambered in. I built a 260 improved if that tells you anything.
