That's all nice and great except you are not dialing in the bore of the receiver so it is all worthless as I see it

Looks to me like some type of lapping fixture but i cant see the collet. Nice lathe for sure

Well young man it looks to me like you got the Golden ticket it is a lapping fixture this fixture is what we lap the helix and the angle to control what twist we can make an the bore in a rifling button the timer in the background is what we use to indicate how much time we let lap on each Groove and we use and air gauge to determine the depth of the Groove.
