Gunsmithing Fixtures out of production

As a design engineer for 30+ years, that’s a hell of a good question. Few today truly understand creativity in the “engineering” sense.

I graduated from University of Oklahoma in 1993 with a Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering. I've been an engineer ever since, Six Sigma Black Belt, with 15 years of structural and machine design in 3d Solid modeling. Got my first patent 14 years ago. It wasn't my last.

One of these out of delrin or other durable polymer.
Hard aluminum same as upper bothers me.
Which one grinds the grit into the other.
Plastic? Upper wins easy, no scratching, marring.

An engineering degree, and you have to ask , "Anyone have any ideas?". I think the University of Oklahoma might want their diploma back!
Because market research is always a terrible idea. Directly asking your potential customers what they might like to buy? Even worse.

There is engineering sense and engineering smarts. The two best "engineers" I know never spent a day in college. One works in wood, the other in metal. Their blueprints are lunch bags from Mcdonalds, or even chalk on the driveway, but they have made good livings surprising customers with their creativity. Of course, I may be easily impressed, I dropped out of engineering school after flunking calculus a few times.
