Teslong survey.

Gentlemen,

I have been contacted by Teslong for some advice and input. They have received numerous requests via their customer contact / support email for a 28" rigid model bore scope, both USB cable and WiFi versions. I know many of you have up to 30 inch barrels on long range competition rifles. Would there be enough demand for them to produce a longer rigid scope? Additional materials cost would be low, longer packaging size would need to be addressed. Would it really be an improvement over the 40" long flexible shaft scope already in production?

I find the current 21" model right on the end of comfort and ease of use. It can be easily inserted into the muzzle for a complete inspection of 30" barrels.

They are very accommodating folks and aim to please. Build a 28" rigid scope, or not.

Let's hear your thoughts.

Does anyone know how to set up a survey here...like "yes" or "no" check the box type anonymously?

I would rather have the shorter one but i dont have the stock In the way issue Some do. Matter of fact id like to see an even shorter one not longer. What they could do well on selling is a 10” model that you can hook the non rigid type into and telescope out like an antenna. They could make it 35” and have an even smaller pkg than now. I do take samples as well.

I love your idea of an extendable unit, but am afraid that it would be problematic. Fiber optics are very fragile (hence the problem with coiling the original units too tightly) and the compression/extension actions would put considerable stress on them leading to early failure. I also think that the manufacturing process would be such as to increase the cost by a significant margin. Being fortunate enough to have both the flexible and rigid models, I find using the flexible model for short barrels by holding the end like a pencil works pretty well. While I have no particular problem with scoping from both ends on barrels longer than 20" or so with the current rigid version, I have heard from a few people that worry about crown damage if inserted from the muzzle. That can be eliminated by simply using the original model, which can also maneuver around the high stock issue as well.

I have been using a flexible 1m bore scope for a number of years now. I role it up and put it back in its case to go. I don't have the issue of handling a long skinny tube or the issue of storage to protect it for transport.

I have both and prefer the flexible one. I wouldn't buy a longer rigid one.
I would like to see the light be able to go a little dimmer though.
I have the flex cable wifi version using with an Android phone. My only dis-satisfaction is the light control. For doing tight bores it is way too bright and the dimming levels between level 1/2/3 are too narrow. I'd guess they could dim max output by 20% and increase spread in diming levels and it would provide decent exposure levels.

Maybe an optional mirror unit for bores that shields the LED lights would resolve the glare/overexposure issue?

Only other thing that would be convenient is O-rings or sleeves for the cable that would help center and stabilize the camera in the bore.

I am using the flexible 40” with cord. Suits my needs. I won’t be purchasing another till this one stops working.

I like the fact that when cleaning my rifles i can simply insert the bores cope into the bore guide and inspect the barrel from chamber to muzzle in one go. No probing from one end then stopping, re positioning the rifle on my bench then inspecting the other end. On my work bench I would have to repeatedly re position the rifle during the cleaning and inspection process. With the 40" I can do everything from one end.
Easy-peesy

I just purchased the 40" flexible model about 8-10 weeks ago. It works very well showing me the interior of my rifles barrel including the chamber area. With that said, had I known they were coming out with a 21" ridged model, I probably would of held off on the purchase.

This Teslong Bore Scope is good tool for inspecting the bore, I mostly wanted one for the inspection my Cleaning procedure's effectiveness. Yes I learned I needed to clean the Chamber area better.

I believe a 21" model would do everything I would need one for.

How will a 28" rod fully check a 30" barreled action? With the handle inside the action to the limit, it is still 2" short of reaching the muzzle. The handle diameter is .625

I like the long cable probe better then rigid wands.
Just have to use them a bit differently (can be hard to teach old dogs, new tricks).

Glad to see all of you had/have a great experience w/ your Teslongs.
Mine wouldn't work w/ my Android, not w/ 2 different phones.
Customer service/Tech support would not answer emails.
It got sent back.

I have the wifi flexible version which works great with my iPad air. Wish there was an app to use with my MacBook Pro, searched last night and could not find one.

I've been driving myself nuts trying to decide which one to get. I'm leaning toward the 40" flexible Blue Tooth version.

My computer is a MacBook Pro, and my phone is I-Phone. My fave rifle is my .20 cal.

I also like the idea of using the flex model for -- well, who knows what.

Does anyone have any negative to tell about the 40" flex?? jd
