Teslong survey.

I would rather have the shorter one but i dont have the stock In the way issue Some do. Matter of fact id like to see an even shorter one not longer. What they could do well on selling is a 10” model that you can hook the non rigid type into and telescope out like an antenna. They could make it 35” and have an even smaller pkg than now. I do take samples as well.
Dusty is a typical Hillbilly......he’ll take anything as long as it’s free:D

...resolve the glare/overexposure issue?

Only other thing that would be convenient is O-rings or sleeves for the cable that would help center and stabilize the camera in the bore.

I completely agree with these 2 points. The problems are the glare, and the focal length.

The system works great if you get the light shining away from the camera. But when it's reflected right at the camera, it blinds it.
The system works great when the focal length is perfect, like on .22. You can rotate the camera all the way around the barrel. But when you are working with a larger barrel, the camera is too close on one side, and too far away on the other. This is why somebody "solutioned" a rigid version. Unfortunately that's a terrible solution.

I was thinking of a spacer per caliber to help center the lens. I see the different sized mirrors, and that appears to work great. Gives you a bigger viewing area.

Include the mirrors for $5.

I was annoyed by the glare as well but it is an easy fix. Depending on the program you can go in and manually adjust the brightness and many other aspects of the image to reduce the glare as well as make the image better. I am using BandiCam currently but I have also used YawYaw Cam and both of those allow you to manually adjust brightness.

bore scope boreguide. $10-$20 keeps them perfectly centered and works great. I made one for my AR service rifle also.

Sinclair for any that are 700 od. (Panda, Rem etc). AR turned down a piece of delrin with a 1/4 inch drilled via a lathe

They still make the flexible shaft bore scope in 36" now, it was 40". They wanted to stop offering a flexible shaft scope but I and maybe others talked them out of it. A simple solution to keep the camera centered and focused is to wrap electric tape to the desired diameter around the head. I mostly view .284 bores and have both scopes taped.

I finally got the $49 one a few weeks ago. It hooked right up on the get-go to the usb- video on a old Dell computer that I had, very nice!
The made in China deal, sure bothers me though. Come on America, build it and we will buy it.

The COVID-19 virus was "made in China" too; don't ever forget that.

I have both and prefer the flexible one. I wouldn't buy a longer rigid one.
I would like to see the light be able to go a little dimmer though.

Yes. My Teslong was virtually useless due to the glare off a shiny bore even at the lowest light setting and proper focus. I returned it to Amazon for that reason. I've seen a lot of good photos taken with other people's units, so I assume the problem was just with the one example I had.

Glad to see all of you had/have a great experience w/ your Teslongs.
Mine wouldn't work w/ my Android, not w/ 2 different phones.
Customer service/Tech support would not answer emails.
It got sent back.

Have you tried different apps as described in the user manual? The supplied app didn't work on my phone (don't remember what it did.) I had to go to "USB Camera" (from the Play Store.) Works fine on my old Samsung S6 Edge Plus and an even older Galaxy Tab.

Mine works fine with the camera on a chromebook,no app needed ;).I did find out it really pays off to adjust the mirror for what bore you are looking at and don't forget to snug it back down so it dont move around on ya.

Shortly after I got my 40" Teslong, my son called for some help. He was rebuilding an engine and had dropped a part inside. He was hoping not to have to do a complete disassembly to find that little part. We found it and retrieved it with one of those flexible extended claw things. With my vast knowledge of mechanics, I believe the part was the doodad off of the thingamajig on the whatchamacallit.

Do that and sell it for $50 and nobody would buy the other version.

I suspect the problem with the dimming is that the adjustment is simply a rheostate and you're adjusting an LED (effectively a diode). It's more or less an off or on situation. Would need to do PWM to effectively dim it. You might be able to add a fixed resistor to alter the adjustment range of the rheostat making it less touchy.
