What would you shoot?

I’m with the 223 bolt gun guys. At 100 yds play with bullets till you found something that shoots bug holes. Cheap to shoot, easy to load, tons of component options

Shoot the smallest group possible. If you shoot 1/2” try for 1/4. Work on wind reading. Work on changing loads up and seeing what they do. If 100yds is too easy you can always go win a couple br matches to add to your trophy case
Bet dats easier said then done.

Hone your skills at 100. When you can shoot them all in the same hole on a regular basis, then it may be time to find somewhere else to shoot.

Put little dots of grape jelly on your target and when a bug lands on it........shoot that. Try jumping into the 6ppc group shooting hobbie. Lots of fun stuff to buy, you don't have to compete with anyone but yourself ( even if you go to matches ). It is really hard to be really good and you can get extremely accurate guns so when you blow a shot you can be pretty confident that it IS you, that some part of your loading, gun handling or wind reading wasn't quite right that time......I find that whole process to be a real HOOT.

Regards
Rick

A nice little 222 if you just want to play around or if I was trying to shoot very small groups prob a 6ppc. Most challenging shooting sport I tried was Airrifle BR at 25 and 50m for score and groups. Sounds easy to put 5 shots through one hole at 50m or 25 shots through 25 different Xs at 25m. 100y can be allot of fun even if you dont compete but I wont limit myself with a caliber

Get a .22 and put it in a stock that matches your LR rifle. Then practice. Only problem is you are at the merci of the ammo with a .22 One lot shoots lights out and the next, one not so much.

What would you shoot at a gun range/club if you were limited to 100 yards?

Im limited on my shooting and shooting a 6mm, 7mm, 6.5, 30 or anything else just seems like a waste of money at 100 yards.

Smallest I got to reload is a 20VT. I can develop a load for that and shoot, but Im scared even that will be stupid accurate and no fun at 100 yards. Kinda thinking a .22lr would be the best 100 yard challenge...
Offhand

I would build a .223 AR or Bolt Gun with a 1-7 or 1-8 barrel.

Then when you may get a chance ?? 600 Yards will be Fun .

.223 Reloading is less $$$

22lr or handguns, maybe cast rifle bullets. Id use that and learn to shoot as best I could and read the wind.
Centerfire rifle rounds at 100 are pretty easy, still could be fun though.

I just hate to waste supplies at 100 yards. Berger bullets and lapua brass is expensive to burn for short distance targets.
How do you think I feel. I spent almost 200K in rifles, scopes, rests, bullets, gas, food, registration fees, ect., and my portable lodging to compete in SR score matches in the last 7 seasons to possibly win a 5 buck piece of wood. A good portion of the shooting that I am involved with is at 100 yards and meters. You gotta want to do it. The people you meet and shoot against and develop friendships with are the biggest prize of them all.

I've trying to find a slingshot like that for my daughter. WE had one just like that 40 years ago, but they are changed now and not to my liking.
Google Wrist Rocket. Amazon has one made by Beeman that's close to what you're talking about.

A .22 LR Rifle is a good tool to use that makes you regard the conditions in order to get tight groups at 100 yds. It is really effected by the wind at that range.
