Which Teslong Borescope?

I have one of the earlier versions, without the rod and no wifi - it works fine with my MacBook Air using Photobooth.

I have both and made them work with Windows XP and 10, a Samsung S9 and an Acer chromebook. They will not work with Apple products because the power output of Apples is too low. For Apple products you need the WiFi version.

Whew! Glad my IMac and Mac Pro don't know the USB version Teslong isn't supposed to work with them. They just keep working great time after time, the same as my Windows 10 computer, no difference.

Has anyone tried the model that will fit the 20 cal's? I'm dying to see what my 204R barrel looks like so I can be depressed again about my cleaning process.

vlcakc - Hmmm. Make that iPhone and IPad. Teslong site states: Notice: This model does not support iPhone and iPad!!!

jpx2rp -
All the probes fit .20 caliber, but only with the mirror removed. Only get a straight view down the bore rather than the angled view provided by the mirror. I'm told that the mirror is a bit too big.

I scoped a factory Remington .204R barrel and a 20BR Shilen barrel with the USB model with the mirror attached with no problems. I think I read somewhere that some of the mirrors may have a slight overhang on the end that requires dressing down with emery cloth to fit .204 calibers. Mine did not.

Good information to know. Thanks.

I just got this email overnight. That green bore guide is one I made long ago from a solid nylon remnant in the shop. I copied her links of commercially available bore guides online.

Looks like a WiFi rigid scope in planned.

Having had nothing but rigid wand bore-scopes until the Teslong 100 series, I now prefer the cable probe over the rigid wands for these reasons:
- can inspect the entire length of the barrel from one end and stroke.
- much prefer inspecting the chamber end, throat, and leade from the muzzle (rigid's are to short to do so on most rifles)

Though I have both, like you I think I like the versatility of the flexible version. It is much more convenient to use for small areas by simply holding the end like a pencil. The rigid version is great for using the marker to target specific areas, but the handle coupled with the longish shaft make such inspections clumsy. Both, however are great units and a great addition to the bench!

How do these teslongs compare to the Hawkeye borescope..??
Bill

My opinion only.....having owned a Hawkeye and now both Teslongs, they give near identical image quality. Beyond that Teslong can take photos which can be shared. The images can be viewed on phone screens, desktop up to home theater size screens with great clarity. Do I even need to mention all this can be had for a fraction of the cost of a Hawkeye.

Bill, you need one of these Teslongs.:)
