Copper reducing agent powder

Ive seen leaps and bounds of advancements in just my 22 or so years of shooting benchrest. Think about the aggs we shot back then- now we have to have a 2 gun agg in the teens to get in the top 20. I can remember shooting the new “extreme” 322 and being a cold load the first match to blowing primers hot at lunch. I remember no 2 actions being able to share barrels and not having trigger hangers on most- even the pandas. So im in the camp of being real happy that we’ve come this far- everytime i load up some 133 or lt32 i just smile
I think I covered that when I said that it's amazing how well BR rifles can shoot, today. How much is shooter? A lot!

I like thinking outside of the small box that firearms of today place us in. We could literally be light years ahead of where we are. BR is still a game that is driven well by competition, to improve, within an accepted set of rules. I'm with ya and I love it! I just think firearms, like we all think of them, are what is antiquated by today's technology in virtually any other area you can think of.
Hell...today I can drive a tractor within better aggs over 1000 yards than our guns can do CONSISTENTLY via gpS! That's not a joke nor an exaggeration Dusty! I can literaly poke one inch groups in paper targets at 1000 yards with a John Deere, wheels slipping and drifting it to the target!

Forget the rifle for a minute..TODAY, we could have flags bluetoothing to servo or stepper motors on our rests, factoring in wind values all the way to the target and the rest staying where it needs to to make that happen. We just pull the trigger while the gun and rest are in motion. I'd build it but it would be outlawed the next match!...and I'm old!

I think we are very much going to see many advances in reloading. Bullet seating glue is coming and that will obsolete many of the current reloading practices.

It would not surprise at all if they develop decarboning agents next and make cleaning barrels obsolete.

Do you mean fingernail polish? Lol! smh
Smokeless muzzle loaders are way ahead in that area. No brass at all!

Ive seen it minus the rest and gun action. It just told you when to shoot. Bart had one and it took a whole team to set it up. That was in the 90’s too

Im just saying they made computerized flag systems in the 90’s and we still havent advanced that part. Think of a system that could tell you where to hold and knew the difference between a 5mph shift at 25yds and one at 75yds. Just like the farley rest it scared everybody that didnt have one

We are light years ahead now, of the Hensler flags of that era. But it makes no difference if an advancement just gets banned. Cost is still another factor to most of us...but it's doable, today.

Back to the original subject...
I’ve seen and read enough evidence to sway me. Never used a copper reducing powder but this poodle season I will.

Yes, as urban alluded to, gov't limits what mere civilians have access to, in many cases. Or, maybe that's what he was alluding to. o_O

If you actually come in contact with actual special operations military and those developing weapons systems for them, you will find out the military these days is not telling everyone everything.

At one time the civilian market was ahead of the military tech in sniper stuff. I don't think that is true today.

I do not celebrate it...

I THINK MAYBE SOME OF THE ALLIANT POWDERS ARE BE PRODUCED WITH DECOPPERING AGENT KNOW MAYBE RL-16 23 26 ?

It scared them to think civilians were ahead

The 2019 lot of N133 seems to be leaving no copper. Much less than the earlier lot that I had been shooting. I am going back to the old lot to use it all up and will pay close attention to make sure it’s not the change in my cleaning regime.
