You know you are getting older when..............

Stopped in Las Vegas on the way to California (you were really cool if you went to California and went to Mickey Thompson's place, Orange County Dragway, stood on the corner of Haight and Ashbury, etc., etc.) and went to see a show. Holy crap! It was $35 a person! It was a guy named Elvis something-or-other. That was waaaay too much, so we went to see the musical "Hair".

Hey, when I went to school, they didn't have History!

You know you're really getting old when you wake up in the morning and you HEAR "Snap, Crackle, Pop" coming from you instead of the kitchen where you heard it coming from a cereal bowl when you were a kid! LOL!!!

You know you're old if you may remember hearing from your parents these phrases:

Finish your food. Kids are starving in China.
You better eat something substantial.
You're eating too much junk.
A dose of salts will fix you up.
I'll give you something to cry about.
Nip it in the bud.
Quit sitting in the house. Go outside and get the stink blown off of you.

Last but not least, no dessert unless you finish your supper.
(Man, I hated those lima beans).

You know....when you can remember when cars cost this much.

Interesting options listed on a 1966 Chev Impala Sta Wagon

Positrack rear end
390 HP V-8 engine
4 speed manual transmission and Tach

Left off things like
Power steering
power brakes
Air conditioning

It doesn't appear to be something that would be only driven to Church on Sunday.........unless Church was at the local Drag Strip

Ken, Remember those wagons were the SUVs of the day and a lot of them were used for hauling the family while towing an Airstream. Luggage rack equipped, too. Another thing is it was shipped to Cleveland, Ohio, a bit snowy up there during the winter. Posi would help with the stick shift.:) I would surmise this was built to a customer's specs. You may be right about the dragstrip. Back then, a lot of guys drove to work with the same car they raced on weekends.
At any rate, a bad ass wagon for sure.

I looked up the K02 fan eq option. It's the clutch type fan. Less HP drag for that 390:D.

Next day I cancelled because I found a 1969 396 Chevelle with 2200 miles for $2000, my good fortune was anothers loss to Viet Nam, guys father wouldn't make the payments for him when he was gone and sold the car on him.

I swear, some of you sound like you got one foot in the grave. Capt.Dan's idea of a wood splitter,I'll be 70 in a few months and still going. Get with it people, drink your Geritol
or some darn good tequila.
I go with choice "B", but I`m only 68.
