Whaddaya know, a Dasher that likes to shoot 105s in the low-mid 2900s. lol

Beautiful rifle. Lots will be jealous if she shoots half as good as she looks.

Thanks Pres.
I cleaned at the beginning of each string.
Barrel only had 10 rounds on it when I started..
AR-Comp seemed to be pretty dirty.
Got like 2x as many black patches on AR- Comp than 16 or Varget.
Twice as much elbow grease. Loads of velocity for sure but im not feelen the love....I like clean...
But its only a ladder....

I did not see any pressure out of any of these loads...No funny looken primers or tight bolt lifts..

Reloader 16.
I have two 50 round reloading blocks from Sinclair.
I charge the cases with powder and then put the other reloading block on top of the other and hold it
togeather like a samwitch.
Touch it off on my old Lyman turbo tumbler and the stuff settles righr now
No 3 foot long drop tubes.Thank you very much....

Comming up
3 Shot groups and seating test at 500.

Played around with AR-Comp in my 6mmBRX and it cost me a match today. Had a load worked up and at distance it fell apart,... live & learn.

What load/powder did you settle on for your seating depth test?

Right now.
35.6
35.9
36.2
Of Reloader 16 at zero where I ran the ladder.
And up in the lands .005.

33.0
33.2
Of Varget same same on seating
These bullets are almost .001 oversized. Not that has seemed to matter on how they shot.
But in the old gun like them jammed.
Its been a few years since I messed with the Dasher. Say 2014 or so.
A big THANK YOU to johara.
My case forming went alot better after you answered a few of my questions..

I shoot in the 1000yd benchrest game. Been doing it since 1990. Yes I’m old. Over the years I have competed with.30’s and .243’s. I have switched over solely to the.6mm’s for the custom Bullets. I have had better results shooting a Dasher than with a .300WBY and a WSM. Both are fantastic cartridges. With the Dasher things just clicked. I have shot numerous 100 scores and many 10 shot groups measuring in the 3’s. I do no testing at 1000 yds. Many people will say that this is not possible. All of my tests are at 100 yds over a chronograph. Other than traveling 2 hrs, shooting at 1000yds is not practical. I shoot 103VT Bullets. Numerous lots from numerous years of production. In my experience they like to be shot at 2960. This is the low node. I have also found that they shoot extreemly well at 3060-3080fps. The powder, primer, case selection really does not matter for me. I shoot 4 different guns, all with the exact chamber, done by the same gunsmith (Mark King). 3 different barrel manufacturers, Kreiger, Bartlien, Broughton. They are all capable of winning on any given weekend. There components are are all the same, powder charges different, but velocities the same. All Bullets performance is related to rpm.

Got carried away Dave, sorry. I have great success with 32.20gr of 4895. A CCI-BR primer and 103VT Bullets. All of my pieces are smithed by Mark King. They all have a .266 neck with.155 free bore. Mark is a class act and he will talk for hours on the phone, Tommy Jacobs makes some of the best Bullets in the world. Find that magical RPM of whatever you are shooting and enjoy the success.

Whats going on with that muzzle brake?
And what made you go with a .170fb? I didnt even think the brass would hold a bullet at .170- .155 is as long as ive seen.

Thank you.
I shoot 1000 yard silhouette at Ridgway,Pa.
My goto set up has been a 300 SAUM in a 17 pound rifle.
Been running that since 2011.
Its been very good to me.
I see more Dashers winning. So I decided to revisit it.
Ill be happy untill the first coyote gets hit and doesnt fall over...
H4895 is on my list.

In hindsight a tuner would have been better.
But while I was breaking it in.
I forgot to put it on a couple of times. You can feel the difference.
Talk about a fun gun to shoot....

The rifle up top is my second Dasher.
I rebuilt my old 10.5 lb. 6mm PPC into...12 pound... light gun...Dasher for Ridgway.
At 500 yards...where I do all my testing..with the .170 fb and a 105g hybrid.
I had some of the smallest groups I've ever shot at 500.
Ask Dave Way..
It shot pretty at Ridgway as well.
For 700 rounds the thing was hell on wheels.
And then the wheels came off.
Will see what happens this time.
