Boring a chamber - 9mm Luger

Hi guys. Maybe a question for the pistolsmiths? Is it possible to bore out a 9mm chamber instead of reaming? I have a bunch of barrels in 9mm to be profiled, threaded and reamed and the machinist gave me this idea. Course, to be done in a CNC machine. $$$
Maybe a dumb question, but let's see people's opinions/experiences.
I have looked around for some answers but nothing getting to the point.
Thanks!

I haven't been to any factories to prove it, but it is my understanding that many gun manufacturers make chambers with a CNC machine and a boring bar. There were some guys on here doing chambers that way and they seemed to be having good luck doing it.
Personally, I don't really see any advantage unless you are doing a large quantity of them. I understand manufacturers doing it, reamers don't last forever and they are expensive whether you buy or make them.
One advantage I can see...many times I have reamed a chamber to the final depth, only to inspect it and see a galled area usually right at the junction of the body and shoulder. Start all over again when that happens. The guys on here that used to talk about it said this was never an issue.
I believe manufacturers must use this method....how else could Remington get the headspace dead on off the belt of a 7mm magnum and have the shoulder .050" deeper than it should be??? Nobody grinds a reamer that bad, not even Remington!!!

remington doesnt grind their reamers and all saami belted magnums are like that. The shoulder just wanders off into the unknown. This is why you dont see belted magnums used much past hunting rifles that reloading multiple times is not a concern

cool guys, thanks! i think that for shorter rounds like 9mm it's fine, isn't it? I will try it and see how it goes.
thanks again! any info is appreciated!
regards
