BnA trigger question?

I read on another forum that BnA triggers are adjustable where timing in concerned? Is this true?

Debating one for a Borden BRM i have and its not an option to send it back to Borden for timing as im in Canada.

I just installed a single-shot BnA into a Borden Alpine and it timed just fine without any need for adjustment. I had the same experience on a previous BnA/Borden as well.

I'm in the process of building a rifle with a Borden action and had a great conversation with Mr. Borden. I was told he wants to know what trigger will be used with an action he is building so that he can get the timing perfect. I think they will work without the timing being "perfect" but if you are having one built, that seems to be the way to go. I never knew, so when I called to order the action, I was thrown for a loop when I had to tell him which I was going to use, as I haven't decided on the trigger yet.

The adjustable sear version of the bix is intended to time a 700. If you reverse it, you will drastically reduce firing pin fall and it will get you closer to an even handoff of the cocking piece. Problem with that is you will probably end up with a smooth bolt that will shoot mid pack. Theres a right way and a wrong way to time an action, and reducing firing pin fall is the wrong way. Borden's are designed correctly and the Bix will time up out of the box most of the time or with very minor tweaking.

Not really, either version will work for you equally well. The adjustment just wont be used.

Hi,

I've an HBR timed with neutral hand off at .256 with a Jewell. It now has a B&A fitted with .259 pin fall. Does .003 make any difference in the scheme of things?

Call Jim. He was making a new barreled action for me and requested that I send him the B&A trigger. I don’t believe he did much if any adjustment but he wanted to be absolutely sure.

I hate to bother him as im not sure on the trigger yet, i might just put a jewel in it. Sending the action and trigger to him is not feasible with me in Canada.

I already feel like a neausance as the trigger guard i ordered from him he just had to send out a second one as the first one went missing somwhere in it US.
