THIS WAL MART BS MIGHT BE A GOOD THING....

I'd had just as soon eat a live toad frog as go in a Wal Mart store, so boycotting them won't be a problem for me. But just stop and think about this for a minute, Cabela's, Dick's, Bass pro, and now Wal Mart giving up on the gun business, it might just bring about the small gun shops coming back! Would it not be great to have small shops again where you could buy, sell, and trade? I hope all the "discount" stores get out of the gun business and the real gun stores make a comeback.... hell it's just a thought or maybe wishful thinking of times gone past.

What "they" want is just what is happening in Australia as we type. They are bragging about prosecuting people with possible terms and conditions of 10 years and/or a $525.000 fine. Thank goodness Trump isn't caving yet. But rest assured, all the freedom we have currently will be gone one day, so enjoy it while you can. All these people running around saying Molon Labe will run to the drop off point to avoid prosecution.

Well, ummmmm--- I'd druther be more optimistic about things than you seem to be Knotwild. I know that many things seem pretty bleak out there, but at least where I live, I see signs of hope. Lots of folks are seeing the absolute stupidity of the modern left, and don't like the looks of it.

People need to be reminded that these bozos want to take YOUR personal freedoms away, and hand them over to a very bloated and corrupt government; and the gun issue is just one of the freedoms they want.

If you watch the tube it doesn't seem like we've got a chance, but the tube isn't the real world. As a matter of fact, I don't think that most of the cities that get the most press are the "real world".

Be strong, brave, and hold strong convictions. Plant the seeds of logic and liberty where ever they might take root. Let's not let these sub-human crap piles run the show. jd

Laws only effect law abiding citizens..... They are smart enough to know the only way to get what they want is to sway public opinion into giving up guns or removing the 2A... Simply doing it would spark something bad , but if you give them up on your own that's a different story... This all is a slippery slope and a road that once gone down is one way , there's no coming back...

They will say or do anything to get what they want , I think after the last few years we can agree there's two tiers of Justice in America... How many times are we going to hear some agency talked to these people a few months or even weeks before something happened but nothing was found to be wrong , so nothing was done... There's what 70,000 state and government gun laws on the books now , so I guess one more will do the trick...All these kind of horrible acts are and have been illegal forever.... Making murder double or even triple illegal won't stop people from doing it.. Neither will expediting the death penalty for these people , they don't plan on living past that day anyway just in the last three shootings there's only one guy in jail , the rest were killed right then...

The only people that will be punished or have their life made harder by all this mess is law abiding citizens not criminals because criminals don't give a d#mn about the law... If you don't think if they could they would remove every gun in America you are not seeing what's actually happening.... It's not about safety but they want you to believe it is...

Let me tell you guys a story, about 20 or so years ago here in South Africa the powers that be decided that we the gun owners have to jump though a million and 4 hoops to own a FA, obviously a unarmed society sounded like a polite society. You can still only own 4 (if you can motivate them) unless you are a "dedicated" hunter, sport shooter or collector and there are a massive amount of paperwork and even written exams to proof your competency before you even get to apply to own a fire arm, building a custom rifle or changing a barrel is even a bigger issue but we are working on that.

Allot of people just couldn't be bothered and allot just handed in their weapons for destruction and stopped buying weapons, ammo and what not. Within probably 5 years just about every gun store in the country closed down and no one could make a living so the "plan" was working and people owned less FA's. Any new guy that wanted to get into hunting would rather buy a bow than try to get a FA, with time social media and internet groups like your NRA started popping up and all the smaller shooting clubs (that you had to belong to to proof you need a FA) started to join forces under 1 or 2 big organisations, we got organised.

With these guys forming one or 2 big organisations we had one thing we needed and thats buying power or to put it differently we now had the "power" or finances to take these things to court armed with some of the best lawyers in the country.

Slowly but surely we the gun owners started to edge our way back and win ground, we have attacks against us daily but we have organisations ready to take them to court. They started with the "military" weapons guys knowing that the biggest organisation is the hunters so if you don't upset them to much you can pick off the smaller guys, than it was any semi auto FA, back than 3gun and all that was very small over here and so it went on trying to almost divide and conquer because who really needs a AR or semi auto shotgun....

Today we have the second biggest gun store in the word rite here 3km from my house and another 4 in that same franchise scattered over the country with more and more big gun stores and allot of smaller once popping up all over, we have access to all the bullets and powders you guys in the US have, all the aftermarket parts and all the accessories we can use.

Don't let them divide and conquer and don't give in to anything no matter how small or insignificant it might appear its all part of the bigger plan

Excellent (and scary) point. Thank you for your post. And I can easily envision this country going down the same path if we’re not vigilant (and stop going to the polls).

I don't see the big outdoor stores dropping their gun lines. That is much of there bread and butter. Walmart is another story however.

Could it be possible these corporations are doing what they believe the majority of their customers want? In reality the people who are threatening our gun rights are the criminals who are abusing our 2nd amendment rights. Quick trials and quick death sentences to curb the criminal activity would be nice. These criminals make us all look bad and we are not the problem but we are the ones being punished.

Absolutely has nothing to do with crime has EVERYTHING to do with control. You cannot control the armed people. They know this so they have to get the firearms away without fighting as they also know a fight with the armed people they will lose. Once again read your history books and we can see what will happen.

Time to bring back public hangings. They got video and eyewitness accounts for several of the past shootings. There is ZERO doubt as to guilt. Stop making mass shooters lottery winners - free food, housing, clothing, utilities, cable TV, healthcare, education, etc at Club Fed.

Let future shooters see past shooters struggle for life at the end of a rope, and then go limp. That'll rehabilitate them.

We need to remember that there are thousands of people who are simply swept along in this "common sense gun control" movement. They are like a flock of sheep, and know very little, or nothing at all about guns, the constitution, the founding of our nation -- they have no actual opinion of their own; only what they are fed by the media.

These people are ripe for the picking, and need to have their "Inner Free American" woke up. They need to realize that if they work to feed themselves and their family, and live free in the best country in the world, they need to take responsibility and help defend themselves and their loved ones, and their country. Stop being punks, and expecting the gummint to wipe their butts and save their bacon.

The founders enlisted us all into the militia that ultimately keeps this country free and independent, and as long as that militia exists, so will our freedom. jd

I agree with this. Without severe consequences, laws mean nothing. You can write laws on paper all you want but if the law is not written in a man's heart and mind, it means nothing.
The only way these mass killings are going to stop is for mankind to become fearful of the Judge. Until then, people will continue to self regulate themselves the way they see fit.

Hang them swiftly and hang them high....

Or at least make all these shootings punishable with the death penalty. And make sure to put them down as soon as possible. No 10 years appealing and breathing on death row.

Edit....no mental illness plea. No one in their right mind would take another person's life in a mass shooting.

I just read yesterday that a Walmart spokesman said they are not about to get rid of the hunting rifles and shotguns ,ammo etc. He said they will continue to support the hunting crowd.

Every time we purchase, we incentivize more production. Those purchases we make represent good jobs. The employees we support create neighborhood stability, local revenue, and municipal prestige. Ours is a bright spot in the American economy.

That’s not just gear in your safe, it’s someone’s pantry, mortgage payment and college fund.

I know a lot of us are empty-nesters. Do not over-analyze the “marginal utility” of another gun. Should churchgoers say I’m glad this magnificent sanctuary has already been built when the offering plate is passed? Of course not, and in the case of these purchases you actually keep a durable good, it’s an easy decision.

There are elections, sure, but the real vote, where the rubber meets the road, is will you help guarantee skilled and knowledgeable people earn a living at this who will be as vocal as their customers are.
