Remarkable little scale

Questions:

when you have the powder pan sitting on the scale, will a RCBS powder trickler reach the pan without interfering ?

Do fluorescent lights affect it ?

I can see this being very handy for load development at the range

This is an early design of mine, built by a friend, years ago. Looking at it I can think of several improvements that I would incorporate today, and I am sure that some of you will come up with better ones. I see no reason why one of these could not be built to accommodate an electronic scale. Of course there is the issue of vibration as well as the wind.

I saw somewhere on one of the forums where a guy who loaded at the bench made a small box for his similar type scale to sit in with a clear acrylic lid. In the lid was a hole and a large caliber soda straw to drop the charge down into the pan. Could see what you're doing with no wind influence. Pretty handy!

I'm going to order one of those scales today. Looks much better than my Hornaday pocket scale the I use for brass sorting. I like the idea of calibration weights.

Wish I'd see that before I bought the motorhome. $$$$ Mike

Nice however, I made a box also but the problem is getting it calibrated. Need to operate the buttons to do this. Can't with a cover on it. If there's a steady breeze you'll never get it done. That's why I like the Chargemaster. You can put the weight on, then cover it, then push the button. ( buttons are outside the cover). Mike
7" tall, I can get me whole hand in, got a front door on it now, keeps the dust off.

An earlier version of my wind box had a plexiglass front, until I noticed that the static charge was influencing the scale by about .1gr. The one in the pictures has tempered glass. IMO static charge even influences powder measures. The clear drop tubes and plastic reservoirs and bottles all contribute to the problem.

Ok got it. I not trying to be picky. We all know how sensitive these are to a breeze. ( i.e. A/C vent ) I'm not sure how the Bald Eagle works but does not the door have to be open to calibrate? How about a cover that leaves the keypad exposed. Then you could put the calibration weigh on, cover it, then press the button. Mike

See what you done now? Here I was thinking I fixed a problem and now I've got to go back to the drawing board and create something else. You are making me put what little
brain I have back to work. Back to Lowes I go.
