recommendation for 308 bullet for Henry mag feed lever action

I have a Henry Long Ranger 308 magazine feed lever action. I would like a recommendation for a lower cost bullet / weight to use for range use. I am looking at choices and find .24 cents/round close to the least expensive. (less per round would be better.)

I am figuring 155 & below for weight. Like to shoot out to 100/500 yds. Low recoil would be nice.

I see these two bullets. Any comments?

30 Caliber .308 Diameter 150 Grain Full Metal Jacket With Cannelure 500 Count
Hornady # 30371

30 Caliber .308 Diameter 150 Grain Speer Target Total Metal Jacket Rifle Bullets 50 Count
Speer # 308150TMJ

These are around .18 cents

What's your plan with the rifle? Targets or hunting? Can't beat any of the 168gr, I just ordered 250 Hornady BTHP for $64 shipped, that's close to what your looking for. If hunting is the plan, look at the 150gr Gold Dot or a Hotcor, they are always accurate enough.

If Henry ever releases a 338 Federal Long Ranger then I'm all in. They seem like an amazing rifle and I've been following them for a few years now.

I've had lots of fun with Berry's plated 30-30 FP 150 gr offering in 30 WCF, 308, 30-06. Will need to utilize data to keep velocities down. Superb accuracy. TrailBoss, 3031, 2400, etc.

Also, speer has a 110 HP. Inexpensive, accurate, super fun.

The sierra 150 g pro hunter flat base is a very accurate bullet that can also be used for hunting. The gameking and gamechanger bullets also offers brilliant accuracy for a couple more pennies.

I really like the .300 WSM to be added to the Henry line. The Browning BLR is a very classy rifle
I have a blr in 300wsm. Its probably the most violent recoil of any rifle ive ever had. Been trying to get rid of it a few years now and think i finally got a bite on it

Doesn't look like anyone has any experience with the two 308 bullets I listed.

I bought some of the Speers. @.13 cents/Rd . The bc looks good and bencherest or hunting is not the plan. Plinking around is fine for this rifle.
Thanks

Speers should work just fine for your plans . For reducing recoil as you stated H 4895 is a good powder . You can use their 60% formula and work your way up to where both your recoil and accuracy are where you are happy.

Yes, exactly my plan. Thanks

A BLR 300WSM must make my model 94 30-30 feel like a model 94-22!:D I have a 700 SPS in 300WSM and do not enjoy pulling the trigger without a heavy, padded jacket on.
