6BRA load data

Myself would fine tune it, with 0.5" or less vertical being my goal (seating, neck tension, neck prep, etc.).
PS..... only proceeding one aspect at a time.

Yep I agree I'm going to work on seating and neck tension next. I will try and keep posting my results.

Tuned up a fresh barrel today, new lot of h4895. 7086. 103 vapor trail automated bullet. .005 in. 30.8.

Alex, have you found that as long as the lot numbers (last four digits) are the same, the powder shoots the same even if the date (first seven digits) is different? Hodgdon told me as long as the lot number was the same, the powder should be the same. I have not tested this yet but I do have the same lot of powder bottled on dates as much as three months apart.

The first digit is supposed to be the container size and the next six are the date.

Dave.

I dont know that.

Recieved a few pictures from Roy Hunter this week (I got him testing at 1000, and he's starting to hate me for it!!!) 4895, br4s and his bullet, I think about 4 in. When he sent me the 3 shot group I had no idea it was at 1,000 yards until later conversations.

Still a work in progress trying to get him to remember the necessary steps....I think he'd be dangerous if he could remember what he did lol.

So today I pulled off the barrel I shot at GBA Nationals over the last two days because I have another 6 BR Ackley barrel that needs to be worked out. In early testing it didn’t do much better than 5” at 1K so I decided to try Roy Hunters 106 because the bullet geometry is quite different than the original bullet. I just loaded up a dozen at .3 gr. increments and shot them over flags to see if the barrel might like them. I also wanted to see if I encountered pressure, which I didn’t. Just three shot groups at 100.

I was happy with the results so the next test will probably be a 1K ladder test.

I thought others may be interested if they had been considering Roy’s 106.

Dave.
