If the reticle comes back lower, that means its riding higher in the rear bag after recoil. I would suggest pounding the rear of the stock into the bag to settle the sand. You can also pick the bag up and drop it straight down to accomplish a similar thing but I like to pound it into the bag a few times to let the sand settle. I didnt used to, but that was before I got my tracking figured out. Other opinions may vary but it's easy enough to try.
Also, depending on how it fits between the ears, you may find you need to remove just a little tiny bit of sand from them. But that would take a closer inspection. And I mean a tiny bit. Start with less than a teaspoon.
