Dry Graphite?

Any reason not to use dry graphite to lube the inside of the neck ? Will the graphite cause any issues?

Thanks

I use Redding Graphite dry neck lube. In my opinion, it works great to prevent cold weld (reaction from dissimilar metals), and helps keep bullet release consistent. I've used 6 month old 30BR reloads in an IBS registered match and placed fairly well. No ill effects or downside to using it.

Not sure if I would use it on an expander mandrel though. There are better choices specifically for that purpose.

I've used the Imperial dry prior to expanding for years with good results, no downside. I do prefer using a Q-TIP inside the neck vs dipping the case, less messy.

I would ask why? What have you used to date? What outcome are you looking for? Is this an attempt to solve a problem? Is it just for novelty? I only try new things when I am not happy with the outcome of something I am already using or a process I am already using. I have used a lot of things but find various waxes work just fine. Are you having problems with cases sticking were they did not stick before? If so maybe the die is the issue or the new brass is the issue?

Where did that come from ? Did you take the time to read the thread ?

To save you some time...From the OP "Yes for seating in new bras. And was thinking for when using expanding mandrel."

The powdered graphite lube can diffidently be messy. If you use disposable rubber gloves the dry graphite sticks like glue to the rubber gloves and none gets on your hands. You can now wipe clean the completed loaded round and it is ready to drop in the box. For me, wet lube is a PITA.
