Homemade neck turning lathe

I Had a housewarming gift from my parents for harbor freight, and found this wood lathe. Added an MT2 tapered chuck, with my PMA shell holder. Now I have a dedicated lathe for turning brass for less than $213.00. Just thought I would share.

For 200 you can’t go wrong. Nice work! You can also chuck up a reversible chamfer debur tool, and a drill attachable primer pocket uniformer.

Interesting, the speed range. Any way to reduce that by abt 90%?
It would seem that it is really too fast for brass on a mandrel.

Chris, You should ask around on this forum how to add a slower variable speed control. There are many knowledgeable people on here that would know.
