Hey people used to pay good money for period furniture with chisel, scribe and saw marks. It's hard to break the habit.

45 years ago, I worked in a shop that made pine furniture. One of my jobs was to beat the new furniture with a length of chain to make it look old.

For what its worth I recently purchased the new CZ 457 MTR, with the stock design being a major factor. Very ergonomic! Maybe look at it for inspiration.

Sorry, for the late reply. I used Angelus leather dye. I did a mild sun or honey burst from the tip to the butt. Dark brown with two drops of red than sanded back. Then 50/50 yellow and light brown. The photo is under a florescent light and looks way different than the actual color. Waiting on the sun to come back.

That’s a really nice finish! Bringing out the stripes in tiger maple is tough to do. You have a winner there! Where did you get your escutcheon?

Thank you. Just getting started with the finish. It gets wild in the sun. Escutcheon? I made my pillars from 5/8 aluminum stock and counterbored the fwd one for the bolt.
