your solvent of CHOICE?

not trying to start a fight, I just want to know, I discarded all my really old partial bottles so I am going to buy one bottle and use it for everything.

thanks for the input

I have used almost all of them (a solvent junkie of sorts). Currently I use Butch's first, and if I am at 200 shots I follow it with Bore Tech Eliminator. I did a trail since I was using Bore Tech Copper Remover followed by Bore Tech Carbon Remover, and I found that Eliminator removed both just as well.

Butch's does a good job on the early cleaning but the Bore Tech products will remove copper that Butch's leaves behind. And I want something that is safe to leave in the bore overnight.

I don't believe any 'one' solvent will do it. I recommend Sweets, followed by Butch's BS. For carbon removal I recommend Bore Tech carbon remover. Just about everything works but this combo offers the quickest and cleanest job on the planet.

OK, recovering from neck surgery so not to sure when I will be shooting again. If able I will drive out to Sunday's match (weather and meds permitting) but won't be shooting.

All boretech here, sweets and jb if its really bad.
I used to really like gunzilla, untill it dripped into my safety and gummed it up so bad i had to dissasemble it. Cost me a coyote to.

Never ever clean without a bore guide! This is why.

I have been using Gunslick Foaming bore cleaner, really strips out the copper fast and thought it did a decent job on the carbon. That is until I mixed up a batch of Ed's Red and used a bore mop with it. Let it sit a while and then wire brushed the bore with a cotton patch wrapped around the brush. TONS of fouling came out.

After working with it a while, I verified with my endoscope camera that it was indeed doing it's job. So I use both now. Foaming cleaner is easy to find, inexpensive and Ed's Red is cheap and easy to make.

Oh, and plus one on the bore guide. Absolutely essential piece of equipment.
