This Just in From Oregon

Okay, you sucked me in. A special counsel should only be initiated to investigate a crime. Since collusion isn't a crime, the Mueller investigation is illegal. He is actually doing investigation in search of a crime, rather than investigating an actual crime.

I wouldn't term this a "political thread". There are constitutional issues here that will directly affect our hobbies, pastimes, lifestyles and god given rights. I welcome the discourse.
I love when these threads come up.
It helps immensely to scratch names off the list of my little board game:”Who Is The Real Don JR. On Shooters’ Forum”!

I leave it to you to search for those answers, I'm pretty sure you don't want to hear them from me. As for the difference between Cohen and Edwards, it was all in the timing. Edwards wasn't running for office when he tried to squelch the rumors. And in Trumps case, the timing is everything.

I know the answers, and none of the convictions have anything to do with the campaign or Russian/Trump collusion.

If Edwards wasn’t running for office when the payments were made why was he tried for illegal campaign contributions?

Just because these women chose to come forward when Trump was running (they thought they had maximum leverage) doesn’t mean that automatically his reason for making the payment is campaign related.

If they thought they had a case they would have charged him already. They love grandstanding!!

Theyre getting folks for totally unrelated crimes from way back. Do you honestly think that if there was a smoking gun or even a hint of guilt it wouldnt be out there?

I honestly think Mueller can't be blabbing to the media during his investigation. It's his duty to remain impartial and you can't do that while grandstanding on the morning talk shows. He was hired by the AG's office to make an investigation and report back to the AG, which he will do when, and only when he has concluded his investigation. Those who have been convicted or pled guilty have made deals to get reduced sentences in exchange for providing details about events that may be directly related to Mueller's inquiry. That is standard practice in Prosecutors offices's all around the country.

As for smoking guns, a whole lot of smoke (but so far only smoke) got released accidentally recently in a Supreme Court filing that was not redacted properly, leaving whole passages in plain view. Pay particular attention to the last couple of paragraphs, Dusty, I'm sure you'll appreciate it's not so much a smoking gun as it is perhaps interesting.

Just a suggestion, JimT, perhaps you should type your questions into the google search bar. You'd get your answers from a more appropriate source.

I'd also like to take a moment to commend you on your Gold membership to this site. Those of us who "pay to play" are giving where it counts to help make it a success.

So much for "Just say no to political threads."
I am enjoying learning, hearing others' interpretations, historical references, differing points of view. Notably, all here
enjoy ( uh, suffer?) a civil conversation, and add context to the draconian legislation introduced in OR. ditto centerlineseal.

I read that article last month. Written by an Uber-liberal and is his legal opinion that has more than a few holes. If the House wants to impeach Trump they better have something better than this.

If you look at an ink spot for a month itll look like a dragon too. You know how excited everybody on that council would be if they even remotely thought they had something on trump- it would be leaked in about 14 seconds. We’ll see how it goes.

Um.....that was simply a prompt to do some searching elsewhere, it was not meant to be a comprehensive analysis of the probe or it's evolution. I got that site after about a 5 second search. Shirley you can find some better sources of quality information with a little more time spent.

I hope this helps.

Ok, i'm going to go out on a limb here and make a prediction. Ready?......

1) Trump will not be impeached. (The crowd goes wild with riotous applause and many celebratory gun shots)

2) IF the investigation turns up sufficient evidence from the Mueller investigation, Trump, who I believe is suffering a significant mental decline, will offer to resign to save himself, his kids and the Party the humiliation of impeachment and make a deal to save his kids from possible arrest and conviction (should that become likely).

3) He will slink off into relative obscurity for a brief period before he dies, or this twitter account is terminated, and there might be something left of the Republican party after the 2020 elections.

Now, print that out and paste it on your loading room wall. If I get 2 of 3 right, I think I deserve a Gold membership for life.

Addendum: The US Attorney for the Southern District of N.Y. might not be so inclined to deal. That might complicate matters considerably.

Heres mine:
1. Trump will build his wall- shortly- one way or another. And since the majority of americans want it its going to be ok.

2. Muller’s investigation will continue about 6 more mo leading to 2-3 more totally unrelated convictions then will be forgotten about since no crime was committed by him or his family.

3. Since trump is the most honest president ever elected and fulfilled every single campaign promise, he will be re-elected in 2020 by a healthy margin.

4. 2024 will see the first of 2 terms of donald trump jr who will continue to fix stuff like a business man.

Oh, ... a lot of us see. Question is, ... What is to be done? No easy answer. All I can posit is that the "Great Disruptor" currently in the White House is doing us all a favor in exposing both parties and ALL politicians for the charlatans and elites they actually are. Where it all goes and what happens tomorrow is unknown.

Best have our affairs and family needs in order. No different than the last 10,000 years of human history.

My prediction is that we will do nothing but go like sheep. But there was a time when men stood for what they believed in. It created a nation, blessed in every way. They fought and died for the future. Believe it or not, accept it or not, but it will end as it is written.

Trump, like it or not is showing that he will not cave to the generic threats. He dares to stand for something. He dares to risk all to win what he believes in.

Man, I gotta get me some of that stuff you're smoking!

Sounds like a wild fantasy to me.

This is the reality you seem to ignore or don’t see. You need to get out more.

Yeah, right. He will resign like Clinton did to save himself, his family and Party the humiliation of impeachment?

Btw, I am not a big fan of Trump, but the extreme vindictiveness and hypocrisy of the Left is astounding and sickening!
