...What powder are most of you using with this weight round? I was thinking 4895H?
The best load I have found for my .223 Savage LRPV with a 1 in 9 twist is the 69gr Sierra Match Kings over 25.0 W748 with a Federal 205M primer and either Remington or Lapua brass set between .005-.0010 off the lands. It shoots in the high 1's and low 2's 5 shot groups.I bought some Black Hills Blue box with 68 gr bullets that shot lights out in a custom bolt action 1:8 twist. Later shot some Hornady 69 gr bullets match grade and they grouped not even close. What powder are most of you using with this weight round? I was thinking 4895H?
I 2ND THIS WORKS GREAT !!!!!I use Varget and H4895 ,both are very accurate for me.

Thats a fast barrel!My # 1 load is N540 ,20.5 Grs @ 3214 fps out of my 1 in 9 twist savage factory Model 12fvss rifle.this round is capable of 5/8 "
groups at 200 yards consistantly .
Varget and H 335 are comprable powders you may consider.
