No worries , John...everyone's opinion factors into the collective, and we're all better off for referencing as many of em, as possible!

That said, had goofy stuff happen with 75Amaxs, (.22-243AI, 1:8, 3585) on coyotes, after the new AMP jacketed ones came out. Would have a nasty ugly mess from one, then a zip thru ribs spinner/runner one the next. No real rhyme or reason, until I realized the original Amaxs seemed more consistent in killing? Dunno about what all changed, just sharing my experience, albeit limited...

Before last year, loaded up 75VLDs with same exact charge of H1000, and they shot super small. And, coyotes friggin LOCK UP when hit with em...go figure?

From friends shooting 80s in their (same reamer) .22-243AI, the 80Amax did a better job of dropping coyote more consistently. I stuck to my guns about staying with a lighter/faster bullet, and wound up having to switch bullets, altogether...

Live & learn!
Great to know. I have about 1000 - 80 Amax bullets. About the same of the 75 Amax. Should be set.

Me too, and happy that my .223AI just loves those 75Amaxs. Aside from making great 'chuck splattin' boolits, the 75s make for a super fun (and surprisingly competitive) practical match round, when pushed 3100+. Win/win!

Several years ago I built a 22-250 Ackley, & worked up a load with the 75 Amax running right at 3500. First coyote fold like a cheap lawn chair. I was impressed.

Number two was a real CF. Called him in to 210 yards, & he knew something wasn't right, so I took the shot, a quartering to me angle. After recovering from the shot, I saw him hauling ass out of Dodge. I knew I had hit him, so after gathering up my stuff, I walked to where he had been standing at the shot, & started to track him by flashlight. I made it about 125 yards to where his tracks led me to him under a downed tree he had crawled under. He was on his last breaths at that point, probably 45 minutes after the shot. I gave him one more to the back of the head.

I pulled the remaining Amax after that, and worked up a load with 75 Bergers instead, but ended up selling the gun before I could shoot anything else.

The bullet splashed on the shoulder, and luckily, a few pieces must have made it to the lungs. I wasn't impressed any more.....

Not intending to change track, but how well should these bullets perform in a 1/7” twist 24” .224 Valkyrie AR build?

That is a shot placement problem not a bullet problem. Place the shot between the shoulder and neck. No exit 99% of the time and an intact undamaged hide. Learned this placement after blowing up some ribs myself. Meant to be educational and not demeaning in any way. Have fun!:D:D
