New JoyPod Gen 3, any operational suggestions?

Cool feet! Was wondering if the Joypod still fits in its bag after the modification?

I think they will. The feet pivot quite a bit. Here is some pictures that a friend of mine sent me of his. It was his recommendation and these pictures that made the decision for me to go ahead with the upgrade.

Thanks for the pics Papa Charlie!

I wonder if your friend can say for certain? There's not a lot of extra room with the standard feet, so it still looks close... sure like having one bag for the bipod, joystick and tools.

At worst case we may have to put JoyPod in upside down in the case so feet are near zipper opening. Thanks for posting pics. Here is link to modification video from Dan.

It will fit in upside down in the bag it came with but the feet will stick out... You can also remove the top cap on each leg and remove the leg's from the body, and it will all fit into the bag.

I just received my new Joypod, and am still recovering from the $550 "lightening of my wallet", and now you guys are gonna have me blowing $125 more! Like Steve, my quest for the elusive clean is costing me an arm and a leg! Lol

Same here but hey, you only have to spend it once. Well at least for the most part.

I haven't even had a chance to try out my new Joypod yet. Guess I will be trying it with the new Skis. Sadly, I probably won't get out to the range until after Christmas. But I have the full week of New Years with nothing on the schedule.

That JoyPod will be worth every penny.

Papa Charlie let us know how your range session turns out. Don't forget to snap a couple pics for us. Maybe Santa has a clean for the holidays

What type of front surface do you use that they track perfectly on?

They look like the feet off the phoenix bipod, I have both phoenix and joypod. What do you like about the joypod with those feet? just how it tracks?
With the joypod you have the option to steer it easily if you need to and get the benefit of the way the Phoenix tracks and save some on weight.

I’m still wondering what is the difference between the Gen2 and Gen3 Joypods.

Honestly I can't see it difference. It could be internal. To be sure, you could contact Seb. I am sure he would be happy to outline the differences.

The "first gen" was the ones I made for the first time, with round plate on top and you still need TO STRUGGLE to secure the bipod to picatinny/anschutz rail. They have rounded half moon shape feet also. Probably just 20 units worldwide.

The "2nd gen" with improved top and quick detach and ski type feet as they are now.
Some people say the feet on the 1st gen "illegal" in competition because can make "track" on the ground / carpet etc. That was why I make a flat bottom ski feet.

The "3rd gen" with improved stronger locking levers and more precise quick detach top & adapter.
I also add Loctite 222 on the tension screws and the ones that hold the feet.

I was thinking to make a pivoted ski type feet, however Dan Pohlabel already made ones. He is a great and low profile/very nice guy. He suggested me to make ones using his design before. I really admire him.

Best,
seb
