It's that time of year. Let's see those kills.

LOL
I was wondering if anyone would pick up on that. Back in 80’s and 90’s I shot mostly bullets that came in the green boxes (with excellent results) and I always had said that if I ever had a daughter, that would be her name....

You might be a redneck if you name your daughter after the bullets that you shoot!!!!

Gary

I know 2 boys named Easton and Hunter. I also know 2 brothers that thought their names were Jesus and Dammit until they went to grade school...

Nothing on the ground yet, but am seeing this guy regularly on camera...always about 20 minutes after shooting hours. Not a monster, but the best buck I've seen in years in my part of N.C...View attachment 1073919
I'm about ready to say to heck with the cameras and just bow hunt the rut. I've been wasting too many hours early season looking for the monsters that show up on camera now and then. Might be different where you are allowed to use bait? I have food plots but the entire countryside is a food plot here.

I absolutely agree, many guys now hunting a nocturnal monster and don’t really have a chance to kill it during the day on their property.

This 18 pointer was killed by a meat hunter that’s never ever killed anything worth mounting in 67years of being a dummy. He got out of his stand Sunday evening and this walked out in front of him. God has mysterious ways... this was killed in Olney, Missouri. by John Boland

I agree. I normally don't wait on the big nocturnal bucks...usually put a couple of does in the freezer and call it a season. If a decent buck makes a mistake and shows up, which ever one on the grandkids that's with me that day has the first shot...grandpa is there for the tracking and dragging, lol.

...may be the ugliest rack I've ever seen. Wonder what caused it? dedogs

I see a non typical as a beautiful thing, some of the most impressive usually are in some way... it’s between God and the animals but they all are different just like fingerprints, some more than others. They didn’t get a forward view picture in the field but not known as photographers either.

I had to drive out to see this beast in person and a good thing I did. It’s going to the taxidermist now instead of the horrible things they were about to do with it. Lol. That’s a buck of a lifetime for this hunter and it deserves a decent mount. I’m sending it to a real professional that will bring it back to life.

Got my first 10 pointer this weekend. Not the biggest deer but a very heavy unique rack. Still have an antlered deer archery tag I hope to use.

Side note if you're wondering how ELD-Ms fair on game they're pretty decent. Quartering to shot. Liquified a lung, half the live, tore through the stomach. Had a 3/4" exit hole and I found a fair amount of the slug on the exit side hide. 308 win, 178 eldM, 2620 fps, 60 yards.

Here's a lesson in either leaving your cell phone at home or just using it for an emergency while hunting. A buddy had gotten a few photos of this guy over the last couple months but all nocturnal. One morning he decided to get in his tree stand, primarily to get one for the freezer when at around 9:00 a.m. unbeknown to him, this guy came within 30 yards. He will never admit he was surfing the web, checking emails or doing online shopping at the time, and said he was fooling around with his bag or something (I know better) but he moved and got busted. Never got the crossbow up. He's going to take this one to bed for a loooong time.
