Interesting that you prefer the .276 neck Alex. My AO chambered barrel is .275 but my own personal reamer is .277. But then, I guess, whats in a .001?.135fb .276 neck, no turn for 105s.

My reamer is .183 freebore and the barrels it has done both shoot great with Hybrids, ELD-M and 107 SMK but all those bullets like some jump.
Yup, my wives rifle(top) has the .104fb, works very well for Hybrids, JLKs, VLDs. bottom rifle has a .136fb which would work as well, it does shoot JLKs very nicely.I just went through the same thing trying to nail down a good freebore for the 105 Hybrids. I had originally ordered my reamer with a .183 freebore, but I was told that would be to long for the 105 hybrids. So I just went with a .104 fb. I'm still waiting on my reamer though.

Old thread but I have the same question. I'd like to understand the "why" associated with the recommendation. I can follow the neck dimension - well, I assume it goes something like .243 bullet diameter + 2 x .015 or thereabouts of brass neck thickness + 3 thou of clearance. How does one determine an ideal freebore dimension?
(Oh and does it make sense for me to purchase/own the reamer that will be used for my build?)
