Dusty, I sent an email 3-4 weeks ago and never got a response. I actually was afraid he had passed away. Besides, if he is that busy, I don't know how long the wait for the die would end up being.

It a die that sizes the base of a case smaller to do away with bolt click. Matt

It is a die that is designed to only size the base of the case right above the extractor groove, where a regular die may not be able to reach or be small enough. I have a couple for PPC, one that works with a regular shell holder and one that uses a pusher rod in place of the shell holder. The reason for calling them ring dies is that they only contact the case in a narrow band at the mouth of the die. Above that there is clearance so that the case does not touch. Some times when a FL or body die is set correctly for shoulder position, the base of that die does not reach as far down the case as the rifle's chamber does, leaving a narrow band unsized, that can cause issues when chambering a round. Part of the reason that this can happen is that dies are made with over generous chamfers or radii at their bottom openings.
