103gr Vapor Trail

Just received a shipment of 103 Vapor Trails. Do you guys jump or jam this bullet?

I'm doing jam of .006 and 30.6 gr h4895 in a bra. That's a 200 yard 3 shot group of .1"

Yeah we have some group measuring calipers with the circles on order. Ask 10 people to measure with standard calipers and you'll get 10 answers and I bet the shooters is the smallest. Gonna shoot this load in a couple upcoming club matches and report back.

Jim is correct the black smudge is not .243 dia. they are smaller sometimes by quite a bit.

If it repeats a few time, I saw too many teaser groups. Wind can blow them in as well as out..... plus I would go in .001 and out .001....jim

Since the op is on seating depth I will say this
If you keep coming out of the lands that side by side may go away
Try adjusting that horizontal with seating depth and then any vertical with powder and or tuner

Not always. Last spring, load development for a 6.5X47L. Knew it was a fluke the instant the hole didn't get any bigger. Three shot test at 500 yards. Should measure a little under .200" I would guess. The loads on either side of it in the test were around 1.25" to 1.5". Even though I felt it was a fluke, I just HAD to re-test the load not once, but several times! Unfortunately, as is usually the case in life, your first instinct is correct.

I guess sometimes bullets just have a certain destiny. If it won't repeat...



Falfan007, I hope yours will repeat.

Getting back to the original question, I have some Vapor Trails on the way for the two BRA's I'm having built right now. Anyone out there with seating depth experience with this bullet? I will give them a full test but it never hurts to ask those who have shot them.
