My BRA load is 32.5 grains of Varget and a 107 bullet at 2998. I might try Sierra 110s. I am wondering if I can get them to 2950 or so.

What kind of velocity are you seeing with that load?

I was trying a new lot of powder...
Old lot was 31.1 @2990 (not shown)
New lot at 31.1 was 3000 (ES 12 across 10 shots)
New lot at 30.9 was 2990 (ES 9 across 5 shots).

This was at 300 yards - 5 shot groups

Now dont freak out when you have to tune the gun to get it back to shooting that way. For some reason fire form loads can be very forgiving to powder charge. If it does it fire forming, it can do it on formed cases, but now you'll have to find it. Nice shooting.

Something to do with softening the pressure spike maybe as the brass will give as it starts to form at the same time as the bullet starts to move?

This might also explain why running a little extra headspace can be more accurate than less?

That may be the reason some have tried more sizing in the first place to see what it would do
And I would agree, I have been meaning to do it, but I think a sine wave target would tell alot while ffing. I am guessing the pressure spike is not sharp enough to get the barrel into the harmonic pattern we are used to seeing.

NF comp and that's a 3/4" black dot on a white background stands out well for me.

Too much horizontal, go back and rework the load................With that load it damn sure ain't the gun's fault if you ain't winning........

Trying to learn something here as I'm not a 6mm shooter, what is the reason for the uptick in interest for the 6BRA over the Dasher? Is it more accurate etc? For a while everyone was on the Dasher train if I remember correctly.

C’Mon over Jade! You need a 6mm in your life... it’s just like the 308 only necked down and shortened a good bit and lots less powder, half the bullet you shoot now, etc... Other than that it’s about 30-40% less per shot to reload.

If I started shooting one of those little ultra accurate low recoil pop guns I wouldn't wanna shoot my rock chuckin .308s anymore, I'd get spoiled with that pea shooter........

I have been having some luck this season with 105gr vlds, br4 primers and 31.4 - 31.5gr of H4895 running low 3000fps. This is on a 28" 0.237 bore 4 grove Krieger with a bore rider throat on a bat 3l action. Brass is holding up very good, I'm on 7 cycles with tight pockets still. 860rds with 0.003" throat growth from after break in. I have been treating the barrel with hbn after every cleaning.
