6BRA load data

I have a couple of good loads which are all much a muchness when I do my part. Barrel is a 30" Krieger, 1:8 twist, parallel, .237 bore, 5R. 31.2gr of RL15 and Berger 105gr VLDs (10 thou jam) shoots very well - around 2980fps. 30gr of 4895 with Berger 108s (jumped 10 thou) also shoots very well, velocity around 2970fps.

Fclass gun...Varget...Sierra 107's....Russian primers .012 off touch...don't own a chronograph. 3" spotter 606yrds.

31.2 grains of R15 is giving you 2980? That's a pretty fast barrel...

I had a .237 4 groove Krieger straight 1.25 28” chambered up with .104 freebore. .271 neck and I turn to .012 neck wall. I use a .265 bushing then go back with 21st century mandrel to iron out. FF load I used 29.2 grains of varget with the 105 VLD 15k into the lands. Fun to shoot 2.5-3” inch groups at 600 yards.

FF at 600 with the above load.

Ladder test at 1000 that agreed with all of the load testing I was running once I switched to the 108 that I targeted as my match bullet. I shoot Fclass it’s extremely fun cartridge to shoot. Match load is 30.54 behind the Berger 108’s slight jam .007 into the lands. Load now shoots in the 2920’s now that I have several hundred rounds on this barrel.

Anyone have any load data for 70- 85 grain varmint loads. Rifle specifics would be great too.
Thanks Jim

.236 Krieger 12TW HV @ 28" with Alex's 2.0 chamber on a Panda...

It's about got me convinced that this is the load:

80gr Precision Ballistics 8 Ogive BT
33.0gr XBR8208 - normal disclaimers apply. Mine has a long freebore for such a short BT bullet.
Tula SRM
Lots of neck tension (.265" loaded neck for .268 chamber, .261" bushing, then a .2395" mandrel for good measure - it barely touches unless there's something goofy with a case)
.005" off touch
3,350 FPS

This is on a 4" LRB with the scope mounted way up high for free recoil. Practically shoots itself. It shot so well at a 300 yard match that I tried it for three relays at our 500M Fly Shoot (I should have stopped at 2, as conditions deteriorated). I'm not up to the task of knowing where to point it at 500M, and that was never my intention when I built it. However, I am convinced it could win at that distance in more capable hands (or under ideal conditions).

It's definitely on the zippy side. I have had to keep a close eye on my loads as I have steadily had to drop them to stay in the 2960-2990 zone. I did run into serious pressure issues running 30.4gr of 4895 with the Berger 108s. 30.2gr and my Labradar still showed them moving at 2985fps so I've since dropped it to 30gr flat. RL15 hasn't given me the same pressure issues but I'm mainly running 105s with it.

The 30” barrel may be helping with a little more speed also.

Where was this past Saturday's UBR match and Sunday's 1-2-3 score match in W Pa.?
Anderson creek Sportsmens club in Luthersburg pa shoots UBR, Peeking groundhog and Deerhunter matches.

Rimersburg Rod and gun shoots 100,300 and 500 and also 100,200 and 300 Yd score matches.

Yes, I shoot at Anderson Creek, but their first UBR is not scheduled until May 26, and the deer targets are 400 yards So, where did you shoot this UBR 1-2, this past Sat?

My schedule for Rimersburg shows the 1-2-3 score match on April 27. So, where did you shoot the score match this past Sunday?

Pretty sure they have a shoot this Sunday as well, a friend told me about it.

Mike...the match you referenced this sunday is a 1-2-3-4 groundhog, and that will be the first of 2018 at Anderson Creek.

I wanted to shoot one of my short-range rifles this past weekend, and that is why I asked the other poster where the "mystery" UBR was on Saturday and the 1-2-3 score match was on Sunday that he said he won.

My apologies to the OP for stepping on the post.

No need to apologize, the shoot on 4/28 only had 8 shooters, not many people made it,.....That's probably why I was competitive. I wont be able to make the groundhog shoot this weekend, I have a business trip to a Logging show in Vermont.

Rimersburg shoots are always on Sundays at 9:00. First 100,300 and 500 was on 4/22.

The 1st 100,200 and 300 was on 4/29.
