After using the Barrel Cool for years and tired of buying those expensive batteries. I decided to make something better. I took a $5 ammo can from Atwoods, a 12v fan out of a doa computer and some tubing I had in the barn. I use this on my 22-250 to my 338. This thing puts out some air. I hook it to a 12v lawnmower battery. Anybody else have something similar or better let my know. This is just version 1.0 The tube fits all my bore guides If it's real hot I stick it in an ice chest.
I guess I don't understand the question. The air comes into the ammo box through the 12v fan and out the orange tubes attached to the bore guides which blows down the barrel. I tried reversing the flow to vacuum but for some reason it didn't cool as well, plus putting it in an ice chest really helps.Do you have a way to funnel the air to those tubes?
Actually it is made for 2 rifles. We put 2 rifles on the cooling station while we fire the others.Well, after re-reading my question I can only hope that you took my question as an April Fools question, it is that stupid! I get it now, the box is sort of pressurized! In that vein, I guess two hoses are one for the chamber and one for the muzzle in order to double the cooling effect!
Nothing like making an ass of yourself in front of this crowd! Sorry. Great idea. Time for me to shut up!
