We are considering having team matches on Friday. We are in the investigation stage and gauging interest at this time. It would likely be 2-person teams and non-registered matches that day. It would be good practice for those who have never shot at Palo Alto.

Let us know what you decide. Right now friday is a travel day (if our entries get in) but we could possibly get there by 12 or so if its an afternoon team match. :D

Awesome! All for the team match, count Team Cerus RifleWorks In. 4 man match would be awesome. Either way my team is in

Oh crap....there goes the neighborhood!

Great...I am certain we will make this team match happen as interest seems to be there. I will get with Vaughn and others involved on the format. It will probably be easiest for us to hold it to two person teams. Regardless we will have to make a commitment to this soon so shooters can plan their trip.

I won't say that is not possible..just not probable. I will bring it up.

2018 Louisiana Mid-Range F-Class Championship
Palo Alto Rifle and Pistol Club
October 6-7, 2018

The 2018 Louisiana Mid-Range F-Class Championship is in the books. I first want to thank Karl Schroeder, Michael Dwyer for their assistance in the pits and on the line, and Bob Lundholm for handling stats all weekend. Without the help of these guys this match would not have gone as smooth as it did. I also want to thank Rick Stewart for his guidance behind the scenes. I can’t forget our wonderful sponsors that contributed to the prize table for this match. Contributors to the prize table were, Sport Optics, Defiance, DeCot HyWyd, Redding, Whidden, Krieger, McMillan, Berger, Lapua, Vihtavuori, RyDol Products, LE Wilson, Palo Alto Rifle & Pistol Club, Rick Stewart, UniqueTec, and Area 419.

With the combination of a very deep field of great shooters and the typical Palo Alto conditions this promised to be a very good Championship even before the first shot was fired. Saturday started off with light winds but by the time most shooters got to their 2nd relay the typical Palo Alto winds picked up making things challenging. Day 1 ended with Norman Harrold and Barry Holcomb sitting at the top. Norman finished the day with a phenomenol 600-52x which is a new Palo Alto range record and a pending National Record, and Barry finished the day with a very impressive 600-39x. Finishing out the top 5 was Gerald Boudreaux (598-36x), Brian Bowling (598-35x), and Kevin Sheperd (597-36x). In the combined Master/Master-Unclassified/Marksman class our only Junior shooter, Cole Broussard, was leading with a 592-21x. On the F-TR side Craig Martin lead by 2 points with a 595-22x followed closely behind by Jade Delcambre (593-28x), Peter Johns (593-22x), Randy Littleton (592-31x), and Greg Barkley (592-28x). In the combined Master/Master-Unclassified/Expert class Jim Barnes finished the day in the lead with a 585-20x with Randall Lamotte hot on his heels with a 584-29x.

Day 2 started off nothing like Day 1, the winds picked up early and continued to build and constantly change direction until the last shot was fired. On the Open side the top five shooters were separated by 3 points and after all the dust settled Norman Harrold was crowned the 2018 Louisiana F-Open Champion dropping only 2 points all weekend to finish with a 998-76x. Kevin Sheperd (997-66x), and Barry Holcomb (996-65x) rounded out the top 3. Continuing on the F-Open side, Gerald Boudreaux took 1st High Master with a 995-56x and Brian Bowling to 2nd High Master with a 995-55x. In the combined Master/Master-Unclassified/Marksman class Cole Broussard finished in 1st with a 987-46x. On the F-TR side it literally came down to the last string of the match, Jade Delcambre finished the match with a 990-49x and was crowned the 2018 Louisiana F-TR Champion, 2nd was Greg Barkley with a 989-45x, and 3rd was Craig Martin with a 988-42x. Randy Littleton took 1st High Master with a 987-49x and Skip Barkley took 2nd High Master with a 987-41x. In the combined Master/Master-Unclassified/Expert class Jim Barnes took 1st (seventh overall) with a 981-40x.
