I understand the annoyance of flipping thru page after page of the same ads being bumped repeatedly.. But its also tough to pick thru a post with 20 items trying to figure out if the one I want is still available.. Often, by the time I figurr it out, I refresh my browser, and somebody just swiped it out from under my nose.. :mad:

Some folks would complain if you hung them with a new rope!! For the life of me I still can’t figure our what’s so difficult about scrolling right past something you’re not interested in without opening it.
 
If you really want to discuss something of relevance regarding add posting and the proper use of adds, there's something far more important than worrying about someone bumping their add every day. Over one half of the items posted on this site that we browse though every day are already sold. Take a close look at the items posted; half of the items are marked sold or language in the add reveals that the item is no longer available!

In short, people are not deleting their adds once an item is sold, they may mark it sold but they fail to properly remove the add. Literally one half of the 150-200 pages would be eliminated if people were polite and simply removed their add once an item sold. Marking an item isn't enough, it still clogs the pages of items that are not available.

This site offers it's members a wonderful option, the availability to sell items free of charge. Take the time to show that you appreciate this free form of advertising by being polite enough to remove your add once your item sells. Members don't want to wade through sold items when looking at items for sale.

We don't want (nor allow in some cases) old ads to be deleted, except when a yearly cleanup takes place. There are lots of reasons why. Ideally, guys would respond to their own ads with something like "Item Sold" (non-upgraded members) or change the prefix to "SOLD" (if they are Gold/Silver Contributors).
 
The prefixes : selling, wanted, sold are excellent. If I see an old post that has an item I'd like to buy & it's sold, easy.
it's sold. And multiple listings are fine.

Suggest that when items that are sold - seller marks as sold and left online, with the asking price. It's a great reference for how to price & what to pay for gear. We've all been there.

before this thread i would have guessed most would not like the first couple pages of a classified section filled with individual items from the same person. Looks like i was wrong and ill now post my for sale adds individually. I learned something---Thanks

wierd thing is people pay alot more shipping this way many times but i guess thats how most here want it.

the only thing I would change is the requirement that you use the buying/selling headers, etc, and delete your ad within 48 hours of selling the items you sold. I see no relevance to what price something sold for more than thirty days ago.
