Grease for bolt action...?

Grease, Rifle Mil-G 46003. I’m about an ounce into a 1 pound can I bought in 1997 when I was shooting an M1a across the course. Works fine on my bolt guns and will last the rest of my life. I do use the syringe of green grease that came with my Pandas when I travel and don’t want to drag along that big can.

I bought a whole big ziploc bag of those from him one time. Works real good. Steve at benchrite sells it still if i remember right. He also sells a mix dwight scott recommends and it works good.

Bolt lube grease-1/3 never seize 1/3 STP 1/3 Lubriplate

Literally any grease. Bacon grease would work fine for this application.

Any good quality wheel bearing grease will work better than almost any marketed grease and it is very cheap

I use what Greg uses, Loctite 51605. But I felt like a real rookie when watching his video I realized I wasn't pulling the trigger when I closed the bolt. Yes I have used the trigger to let compression off the firing pin spring.

I use the green tube Mystik JT6 Multipurpose #2.
This is a high water resistant grease that I originally bought for 4WD front hubs.
If you are doing heavy duty case forming it is much better than Imperial but a little messy.
It is about $4.85 /1 lb tub. About the same for a 14 oz tube.

I like the white grease as it shows filth when dirty. Granted I have been using the green stuff from john deere recently.

I use the Marine Wheel Bearing Grease. The blue stuff. High speed, very high temp, ... and most of all ... cheap.

like someone said earlier ,,,anything will do ,,,I like to thin the purple stuff with Lubriplate white lithium,,,it makes it "thinner" or more viscous which helps when shooting in cold weather like I do a lot,,,I even keep it in my pocket to keep it warm if its real cold,,,Roger

I have and it works good but it be messy, I use it when I screw on barrels. Use the red sticky tacky Lucas stuff they had some at Wally World for a buck a tube they were damaged.

What I use on lugs, extraction cams, raceways, bolt-body, barrel threads, action screws, shroud threads.

• Lube: Lucas Assembly Lube and/or PBM Assembly Lube
