I'd put the rabbit aka lawnmower photo on the cover.

I have said that for years, at the very least mandatory boot camp. If you have no discipline you have nothing wether it be Military,sports,schools,boy scouts or even COLLEGES you will have nothing

Bootcamp ain't all it used to be. More like house-shoe camp. Ask around to recent veterans. Unbelievable.

They went through hard times, wars, depressions and sacrifice. Today's citizens are too soft. Poor people in this country don't know what poor is (see below taken 9/18 in Africa). I say bring back the draft or initiate mandatory military service. One appreciates what they have after they've seen how 95% of the rest of the world lives. Sadly the new paradigm is everyone should live better without having to work for it and getting ahead is for someone else.

( 11-13)and coming back to the states i couldnt believe how nieve people were about it all.

Yeah no sympathy for Facebook or twitter problems. When you see someone living in a mud hut and drinking from the same ditch they are bathing in, it really changes things for you.

Can't quite get there. Something tells me that's a good thing. That whole 'Drink upstream from the herd' thing only works if yours is the only herd or the furthest upstream.

My dad told me that one of the hazards of swimming in the Ohio near Pittsburgh in the 30's was the famous brown torpedo....always coming down from upstream. Said never swim upstream with yer mouth open

In a related theme, he and his buddies made a deep diving rig...a sack of rocks held to overcome balast, a milk can with a window glued into it, nestled neatly over the head and held on with armpit straps, air fittings brazed into the top and a double barrel tire pump to send air down thru the hose. They explored the pilings under the Ambridge bridge from a skiff. If any kid did that today they would be put on prozac.

Dad got run over by a train at 9. Lost both legs at the knee. Worked 35 years in a steel mill. Never called in sick till he had a heart attack on the way to work one night.

Western PA chili (now mind you, this is a place that puts a fried egg on a perfectly good hamburger and calls that good)

Pound hamburger, fried with 1 onion. Pour off grease. Add 1/2 cup ketchup, i can small tomatoe paste, 1/2 red pepper, 1 can kidney beans washed. cook for 1/2 day/ Add a little crushed red pepper late and eat with saltines.


Ya, I know, not real chili. But thats what momma made and I like it so shut the heck up or I will send momma your way, and no respectable Texan would not eat mommas chili and not tell her it was the best they ever ate with her sitting right there. So to maintain your manhood, don't be saying nothing about her chili or I am buying her a ticket to your place with her skillet packed!

No thread that excoriates non-shooting topics would be complete without descending into the realm of "cute dog pics".

Here's a shot of my hound pack that I've been training for a few months now. Got them from a breeder on the Arkahoma line. Pretty standard for that area, but unique most everplace else. These guys are so good that they can pretty much catch coons with mathematical calculations. jd

My apologies Snert!! Tell your mom that I like home cooking and would enjoy breaking bread with you and her when she makes chili next time. I am sure that her chili is wonderful.
