Broughton or Brux (have to check my notes) 8 twist throated for 70 and 85 grain bullets by Bob Green. Old Tikka 595 action. Home made stock with a little bit of fancy grain. With a little lip bending of the factory mag and an additional spring, it feeds ok.
Great, now quit diddling and go shoot the damn thing! Was that olive or corn oil?View attachment 1039391
It has a slight balsamic smell to it and he did mention Virgins had something to do with it. Extract, sacrifice ,chanting? It's been a while and I'm a little foggy on the conversation.![]()
Quick question, did you bed it? I have one of these actions in a Master Sporter stock configuration, no bedding. I've had to keep a close eye on the action screw torque or they start to loosen up and my groups open up. Of course, mine is in a heavier recoiling caliber (308), but soon to be re-barreled.
Overall it does really well with the flat bottomed action in an un-bedded stock, but I am considering bedding it when I have it re-barreled.
Great Work Josh-- I dont think anybody can really appreciate what goes into a stock like that until they try it.Broughton or Brux (have to check my notes) 8 twist throated for 70 and 85 grain bullets by Bob Green. did you use the duplicator on this one or "The Old Fashioned Way"?Thanks. You want to know something funny? I'm glad I posted the build it thread. When I haven't done one for a while, I have to go back and read it to be reminded how I did it. I must be getting old!![]()
