New stock duplicator arrived!

Just look at how a typical shop vac works....place a baffle right in the airstream, large particulates hit it then, drop out. They sink to the bttm, the fines...being much lighter, can and do,make the quick turns to get evac'd.Aerodyne makes a really nice horizontal air scrubber that takes the above to the next level.....instead of a "baffle",there's a 360* air injection that kicks the particulate out.Looks like a big arse round muffler/cat.They mount them up near the roof's of industrial buildings.Wasted space otherwise.

I got some at this place for $14/each. 4" long solid carbide 4flute 1/4". Is that ok?

Sounds expensive. I'll look them up but might have to get the chips with a dust pan and brush.

This is an experiment. The next level machine was 5 times the price of this one.
There is a fella that is in my town that has what i am told a 30K priced machine.. but getting him to duplicate a stock is a nightmare!

Well dang! I wished I knew! I woulda bought yours!:( I don't expect this to do everything. I'm hoping it will do my butts and palm/grip area. I know it won't do the deep mag well.
It's not for sale I like looking at it, and I might do some chair legs one of these days..
You will be surprised what it may be able to do with the correct tooling...
I wish you well.....

I hear ya! Tools are like guns. I always regret selling them.

I'm already thinking of modifications and a complete redesign. I think the router/guide carriage could be made to move up and down while maintaining a vertically constant attitude. I'd have to add another set of guide bars with bigger bases and towers and another cross bar set up. The weight would double. I think you're right, Dusty. You need strong, sturdy steel to get rigidity, and that gets heavy, Wished I hadn't missed that auction!:(
