Wichita action

How are they? It's a rb lp action with a three lug bolt. It seems to be the one that ejects, but the ejector is gone. Do these have a Rem 700 footprint? Worth much?

Good action. Definitely not a 700 foot print. Hard bolt lift due to being a 3 lug action. Some have a cone bolt some don't. Takes a 700 style trigger. Very robust construction makes it a very heavy action.

One of my favorite rifles I built on a Wichita Mini back in 1980. Possibly the best shooting BR rifle I ever had. Built a couple on 1375's as well and liked them too but really liked the Mini just because it was unique. A second rifle I built on a Mini was the best rifle I ever shot and I fired three consecutive five shot groups under .1 when I tested it. WH

All the Wichita actions are naturally very accurate. Built with very tight clearances and very straight and square raceways.

The extractor on the Mini never failed! There was definitely a cool factor as well. I only recall one match where there was another one on the line. WH

I just rebarreled 2 wichita actions, one cone bolt and one flat face. Cool extractor built into the lug. 3 lug design. Very solid and very strong. A pleasure to work on. The shooters who own these 2 rifles do very well at our club. --Jerry

Funny, one would think that a shooter of that caliber, would be so careless as to shoot himself.
