Barrel Tenon Measurements TL Technologies Action

Taking measurements (never have done this before).

This is what I got
Action Face to Lugs .705
Action Face to Bolt Nose .559
Action Face to bolt Face .682

My Lug is .230. The extractor requires extra width to clear. My measurements indicate that the extractor opens to .714 to get around the case rim. I'm thinking .725 for a recess width would be adequate, but the maker recommends .740.

What are opinions on these measurements? Do they seem within reason?

Your measured.714 to clear the extractor is, I assume, with the bolt out. The rim is pressed against the opposite side of the bolt face. This can be different with the round held centered in the chamber. Every .001" it moves toward the center means .002" diameter change. So you probalby need more than you think.

OEMs don't want complaints so likely the .740 is conservative. But it's never going to be tight. This is why I stay away from M-16 style extractors.
