I have fallen from grace...

I will be happy to help you with this problem. I will give you $100 and prepay the shipping to my FFL.

True confession: I once owned a Ruger Mini 30 - first rifle I ever bought with my own money at 19 years old. It had a .308 bore and a weird forcing cone in the throat so that you could shoot communist .311 bullets through it without going nuts on pressure. My first handloads (ever for a rifle) were capable of a stunning 8 MOA. (I'm not exaggerating, it's amazing I stuck with it.) And the trigger assembly would unhook and fall out every other time I fired. :(

So at least you picked up something with style.

Now you’re hunting in style. Gotta get the clothing and gear to match.

this is an interesting variant. Winchester made a first run without the safety selector on the upper tang. Then the ones with the sliding safety, like a Ruger #1. There was a special run made with color case hardened receiver. They were called the "Texas" model. There's a set of 6 numbers, then "TEX95" for the last five digits for the serial number.

God Bless John Moses Browning!

Now break out the Woolrich & the Filson, ... and your talkin'!

(Although we ain't really needin' hardcore cold weather gear in SW Idaho this year.)

No doubt that it will be sub MOA of elephant, hippo, rhinoceros, etc. those are wonderful rifles! Congratulations.

I have a few Winchester lever guns in my stable. You have actually gone up a notch, not down, in my view. Now, go read a Louis L'Amour story with your new Winchester in your lap and be happy. I suggest "Lonely on the Mountain".;)

If it came off the assembly line in spring of 2003 it is rare. AsNewInBox! It had four rounds of factory ammunition fired thru it, then cleaned and put back in the Red Winchester box, then put back in the tan cardboard box it was shipped in. Came out once a year, wiped down, and put back.

Thanks for all the compliments, even a blind hog can find an acorn every now and then...:D
