RL26 in the 6 Creedmoor ????

I know that RL26 works great in the 6.5 Creedmoor.

Have people been trying it in the 6 Creedmoor yet?

If so what are the findings?

H4350 works very well in this cartridge. RL16 also works well and is similarly temp insensitive. What is the impetus for trying RL26? Not a critique but just a sincere question...
 
From my personal experiences. 48 grains of RL26 and a Berger 135 Classic Hunter bullet with Fed210m primer. Accuracy was 1/4moa out to 600 yards with a mv of 2940fps with a es of 8. Was thinking if it worked on increasing velocity that well with the 6.5 Creed. Why would it not work well with the 6 Creed.

There are times when we think that if a powder works well for (insert cartridge here) it should for another similar case shooting a different bullet. It isn't always true.
My case in point came decades ago. At the time I was loading 223 Rem for a bolt gun, along with 308 and 7MM08 hunting rounds for bolt guns, using WW748. It seemed to me a "universal" powder and upon acquiring a 243 I naturally felt like it could be loaded with the same powder. After all, it was a very similar case to the later two rounds. After a long search (no google way back then) I found zero data so a call was made to Sierra's tech line for help. The friendly voice on the line said he had it and it should be a good choice even though he had never used it. Turns out while 748 was good in a variety of different cartridges it was not in the 243 due to the fact it developed over-pressure situation within a half grain of their starting load.
Your 6.5 Creedmoor load seems like a winner for sure. Are you doing this in Hornady brass? If so, how about primer pockets? Lasting long? What other powder does RL26 compare to in burn rate and pressure curve?
I'm really liking RL16 in 6 Creedmoor. I found a super wide accuracy node (over a grain) and no velocity fall off from H4350. Haven't done much testing on RL16 in the 6.5 yet but this could have great promise replacing my RL17 performer there.

I tested RL16 in my 6.5 Rem mag. It can push the 140gr Berger VLD over 3200 fps with RL26 and RL17. I found that RL16 burn rate was too fast to duplicate those speeds. Hit max pressure at about 3050 fps with the 140 VLD.

That being said, I don't believe RL16 is a good replacement for RL17 in the 6.5's IF you're looking for speed. Who knows for accuracy. Every rifle is different. My rem mag didn't get the accuracy out of 16 either.

However, RL16 is almost a direct replacement for H4350 in burn rate. While testing H4350 and RL16 in my 6.5 Rem Mag and many other rifles, I get the same speeds with the almost identical charge weights of both powders.

Are you running compressed loads with R16? I tried it in my 6.5x47 and although accurate, it seemed too bulky for the 47 case and my loads were compressed.

I have plenty R16 and would like to try it in my 6 Creedmoor...May work better due to slightly more case capacity with the Creedmoor.

I found it the same for 6.5-47L. Accuracy, ES and SD were very good but just ran out of room in the case. As for the 6 Creedmoor I settled on 42 grains RL16 with 105 Hybrids. You should drop off that a bit and work up to be safe.
 
Horrible. You guys should go to H4350 and only H4350 so I can have RL 16 and 26 to all myself. I will take one for the team ;)
 
I’ve had good results with Reloader 26 in my 243. I know it’s not a 6mm Creedmoor but similar case capacity. Reloader 26 is very dense so you may be surprised by the charge weight you can get in the case, especially with a drop tube. Would certainly give it a try with the heavier bullets of course.
 
I ran RL 26 in .243 win this past summer. Velocity with the 105g bullets, nothing will touch it. Accuracy very good. The temperature induced velocity swings in hot weather will break your heart. I went back to H-4350 in the summer.

Ditto, I ran Berger 105'S to over 3,400fps with RL26 in .243 WIN 26" before I hit pressure BUT......once the temp goes over ~83F velocity & pressure shoot up very fast, below 83 it is very stable.

Pretty much mirrors my experience exactly. I have ran it some this fall and winter and it has been stable.
