Am I wasting my time/money?

I already own two 6.5 Creedmoor rifles and reload for them so I don't even need to buy dies. Just looking to "hotrod" the rifle a little. On that note... I've heard you can "hotrod" the Creedmoor by going to small primer brass. Can anyone give me any anecdotal experience?
Thanks

When you say hotrod, possibly that will be achieved w srp brass AND of quality mfr is more firings before you trash your cases.

Yes to your initial question.
Here’s my perspective:

I’m not real old but I have more gray than brown now and I’ve have been doing this stuff a long time. After a project like this (which I’ve done a few times) the “buyers remorse” sets in a few months later when I realize that any game animal I’ve pursued wouldn’t have dropped any sooner with one cartridge vs another and the novelty of the project has worn off. By then I’ve typically found another project that interests me but the $$ I spent on the novelty is now gone. You see the trend.

Someone else mentioned buying better glass. I’d say in general spend it on quality anything before rechambering, glass only being one thought.

If $$ is no issue, go for it, but that’s not the case with most of us. I think you are wise to post your question before you plunge in. A wise man listens to counsel.

Another thought: if you have a high-end rifle with an Ackley chamber you can resell quite easily but it may be a problem with this particular make & model if you ever decide to try to sell it.

Wow. Way more lengthy than intended but there it is, for what it’s worth.
Good luck.

I was thinking about an economy hunting rifle project and hoping to get some feedback from the wealth of knowledge on this site. My idea was to buy a Ruger American Predator in 6.5 Creedmoor (6.6 lbs) due to the weight and price. My plan was then have my gunsmith re-cut the chamber to .260 AI. I have a heavy .260 AI and am very impressed with the accuracy and velocities using RL26. Just thought it would be nice to have a hunting rifle in the same caliber.
The .260 AI reamer should totally clean up the Creedmoor chamber right?
Just stick with creedmore, load the 100ttsx to max speed and it will be excellent out to 400 yds .
