Just wanted to post some details and some pics of a new build. It's a .223 F/TR rifle for mid range (300 to 600 yds) practice, some competition, and all around fun. Also, wanted to put up another shout out to Greg at Southern Precision Rifles (Bugholes.com) for another great Bartlein barrel chambered by him.
the details:
1) Savage Target Action
2) Bartlein .223, 1 in 7.7 twist, 28 inch, heavy varmint like contour, free bore is .125" or so I believe
3) XLR Industries Element chassis (love these things)
4) Murphy Precision SS 10 moa rail
5) Sightron 10-50x glass
took it out yesterday for some seating depth testing and load testing. primarily focusing on seating depth. bullet is the awesome Berger 80.5 gr Fullbore.
All 5 shots at 100 yds.

needless to say, I am again very pleased. this the second .223 barrel i have gotten from Greg, and they both have been outstanding shooters.
on the lands and .010" off look the best. Powders are H4895 and IMR 8208 XBR
I am also in deep sh.t for taking the pic on my wife's kitchen table
