7MMRSAUM and IMR 7828scc with 180 grs. Bullets

I never got around to using 7828 in my 7saum. I used H4350 or H4831 with 162-168's, and Retumbo or H1000 with 180's. I know it wasn't hopeful, but I think 7828 would do well.

I mimic this, had I had 7828ssc back when I was running my 7saum I certainly would have tried it. I have 3-8 lb jugs sitting here waiting on as project.

I've used it in several Saum barrels with very good results. Probably one of the most accurate powder's i found with it plus better velocity than say H4831. Generally around 60.5 - 61 grains with 9 twist barrel in My rifles. Be carefull with it if pushing max load when it gets hot!! Will pressure up fast!!!

Try N-165 an 180 hybrid. 30" barrel 220 freebore =3050fps with 59grains. very accurate

Thomas, N165 was my first choice as it's readily available here in the U.K., unfortunately it looks like I have either a slow batch of powder or a slow barrel, or perhaps both. I tested 62.5 of N165 in a 30 inch Krieger and only got 2940 fps with a 180 VLD measured using a Labradar.
I have also tested two different lots of H4831sc and with one lot using 62.2 grains I got a steady 2970 fps and with the other batch I was getting 3010 fps using 62 grains.
