7mmRSAUM and RL 25 powder

Anyone tried RL 25 in the 7mmRSAUM with Berger 180 hybrid my fb. Is .200

Nope. Retumbo worked well for me. Mine was on the high node, running 2895 fps avg.

I tried 60 gr RL-25 with moderate success behind Berger #28404, but this is a slightly compressed load and has not been the best, however. The best that works for me is 57.5 gr Win Supreme 780, but unfortunately it appears to be discontinued. I am still working on an 8# keg. Nearly identical burning rate to Winchester is VV-N560 also 57.5 gr. That works too. I have experience with 62 gr RS Magnum. It is just a little slower and performance is not as good as the Winchester S780. RL-25 is stick powder and seems to be more consistent burning than these three ball powders.

I have not tried Retumbo as it is slower than RL-25 and probably requires an even greater compressed load, 10% or so. If you use it, work up loads carefully. I do use Retumbo in .338LM because the 300 gr bullets really like it. My loads are all with 300 RSAUM Norma brass re-sized to 7mm. All loads are using Fed 215M Gold primers. Rifle is Armalite AR-10 with 24" barrel.
